Spotted the CHKN BOX truck parked in the Loop during my lunch hour and finally gave it a try. The hype is definitely real. I got the spicy fried chicken sandwich box which comes with massively seasoned fries and a soda. The chicken was crazy crispy outside and super juicy inside, with just the right amount of kick. The line moves fast too, which is huge when you only have an hour away from the office. Absolutely fire street food.
The hours are listed as 12-5 on Saturday at 48th and State. The truck was not there at 1pm.
The truck came to my school last week. The chicken is so good and flavorful that I was trying to find them again today. The green juice tastes like the green freeze pop from the 80s. 👍

One thing I immediately loved about CHKN-Box is how community-centered the brand is. They are very intentional about showing up for students and making their food accessible and affordable, which you don’t see enough. It doesn’t feel like just another food spot — it feels like a brand that actually understands its audience.
