“If it’s busy the cover for UFC PPV will go from $30 to $50” what kind of a business is that? You have a set price for UFC PPV matches or not? PPV is $79 on ESPN why would anyone pay $50 per person to watch it there? You guys have a problem running a restaurant. You either set a price for it and keep it steady or you don’t charge at all. And she has an attitude. You are not the only bar showing games and that’s how you lose customers. Do some competition research or get a new management because this one sucks.
Outside of the time of my experience, the service was bad! The only nice thing about this place was the decor. Was greeted by an empty host station & the bartender that was there had zero desire to even attempt building rapport with folks at the bar. Asking her a simple question around what they had there was met with laughter & then she’d immediately walk away to “hang out” at the end of the bar with other staff sitting around.Having worked in hospitality as a bartender for many years, it was disappointing for a beautiful space to have lackluster enthusiasm for its guest. It’s not a place I’d suggest my friends to visit as I’d expect the same poor service.

I recently visited “Blum” with high hopes for a fun evening out. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the bartender's constant neglect, which left me feeling frustrated and disregarded. From the moment I approached the bar, I noticed the bartender seemed more focused on chatting with colleagues than attending to customers. Despite making eye contact and trying to get their attention, I was consistently ignored. It wasn't just a one-time occurrence; this happened repeatedly throughout my visit. As a customer, it's disheartening to feel like an afterthought, especially when all I wanted was to enjoy a drink and socialize. The lack of attentiveness not only impacted my mood but also prolonged the time it took to get a simple drink. On several occasions, I witnessed other patrons (mostly girls) receiving their orders while I was left waiting.I understand that bartenders can get busy, but being consistently ignored crosses the line. Basic customer service should never be compromised, no matter how crowded the venue may be.The poor service from the bartender overshadowed any positive aspects of the venue. The ambiance and decor were nice, but ultimately, it's the people and service that leave a lasting impression on customers.I hope that management takes this review as constructive feedback to address the issue. Improving customer service and ensuring that all patrons are treated equally will go a long way in enhancing the overall experience at “Blum”. Until I see improvement in this area, I'm hesitant to recommend this place to others

I came here with some friends for a birthday brunch and we weren’t satisfied. For one, before we ordered she made one of us give up a credit card and ID..not sure why. We were a group of black teens and I noticed they didn’t card anybody else, but I’m not 100% sure. Everybody ordered chicken and waffles and I had the American breakfast. The chicken was bland and they only give you one piece, my eggs were wet like they were microwaved and we didn’t even get water refills! And don’t get me started on them not letting us split the bill..it totally blindsided us! The waitress showed no concern with us not finishing our plates she just charged us 150 for bland food. This is just a hang out spot for drinking and chilling. Don’t go if you want to really eat.
The place is really nice, and the vibe is cool. Food is nothing extraordinary, drinks 8/10. Service was good only the guys on the entrance some mean.

I have been to Blum 2 times now, both times was just for drinks. I haven't tried the food so I can't speak to that but the drinks were nice. I only reason the star rating is low is because of the second time we visited. The first time the drinks were so good we actually made it a point to come back. The second time we went, they didn't have multiple things on the menu (which is online), but things happen. Then we asked for something else and they were out of the Kiwi portion of the drink so couldn't make that. If you know there are multiple things you no longer make and don't have the ingredients to make certain things, it might be a good idea to update your menu and have your servers tell patrons up front what you don't have in stock. We ended up ordering 2 other drinks but they were nice just not as great as the first time we visited. I will say though this place is GORGEOUS, its beautifully decorated!! Definitely a place people can go for cute pictures and some decent drinks.
NO OCTOPUS NO LOBSTER most of the ohcs on these reviews the food is bot served here anymore. literally $80 for 4 watered down drinks seen in photos below. Also they dont serve these drinks anymore. the food advertised is not available. atmosphere is nice but the service is not welcoming. stuck up bartender. watered down juice tasting drinks literally just hit the liquor store b4 you come lol. More of finger food not upscale dining like we thought. i would not come back. This is a place to come take photos and leave. worst restaurant i visited in Chicago. the food was ok wasnt bad honestly just not what was advertised. Not a big selection. This is a aesthetics only restaurant with nothing much more to offer. no dance floor. the reviews are mostly old from years ago. Find another resturant for welcoming , good vibes. Wasnt terrible but not what you would expect. Some fries was $18 when advertised $10 for happy hour

The servers are so kind! Drinks are nice and STRONG came here for happy hour! i like how their happy hour goes until 7 and it’s not too packed! They had decorated for St.Patrick’s day!
Atmosphere was great, drinks were great. Not a variety of American Traditional food on the menu

Went to Blum on Saturday and it was a horrible experience. My friend made reservations a month prior. When she went to brunch with the waitress we arrived for our reservation. The gentleman at the door was very rude. He insisted that he did not see our reservation, even though we showed him that we had text messages verifying that we had a reservation he told us to stand by the door left for like 20 minutes and left us standing there finally once more of our people arrived, he sat us at a table that was too small to accommodate our party. He said that once a bigger table becomes available, he would move us. It took 30 minutes for someone else to come up when the waitress finally came we asked her about moving tables because we were still expecting two more people. She said let me check she was gone an additional 30 minutes, so we are now sitting here an hour with just water. Finally he comes up again with an attitude and tells us what do we expect him to do can’t we see that the restaurant is full and there’s nowhere to put us, I then explain to him I expect for you to honor our reservation we’re showing you proof that we made the reservation he just kept at insisting that he did not have any evidence of a reservation even though we were able to show him text messages after having words with him, he finally moved us to a bigger table from that point our waitress was really nice. However, it took an hour and a half to get food. The food was good. It just took way too long, the waitress just kept coming to our table, saying that the kitchen was backed up, and that our food was coming. I will say the drinks were amazing. After we got our food we asked for dessert and was told the kitchen was closed .
Terrible experience no heat made a reservation in which it was confirmed upon my arrival I wasn't informed of this issue it was my birthday then I was told I could go eat and come back for nightlife after I returned I was told that they were only hosting a private party worst experience ever.
Food was terrific, very tasty. Had the Caesar salad with shrimp. Service was slow but consistent seeing that they were short staffed.. Tip is automatically added to the bill along with a $3.60 use charge (told it was for cleaning). Beautiful restaurant with a loud sound system: great for pre- or post-drinking get togethers.
The menu is very limited. I feel like the service provided for black customers were not the same as others. The drinks were not strong.
We went on a night that wasn't that busy but was still a vibe, the waitress was attentive and the employees were celebrating the manager even included us and gave us free shots
