Have ordered/dined in here a half dozen times. The pizza is delicious, and ambiance is great! Coalfire staff went above and beyond tonight, though. My delivery order came without salad dressing, and when I called them they sent a driver over with a new salad, extra salad dressing, and a bonus dessert item. Excellent customer service, they really earn your business!! Thank you!!

Great spot for Napoleon style fire roasted pizza! I especially recommend the pepperoni and whipped ricotta! They come out quickly like in 5-7 mins so I would suggest starting with 1 before you over order, because there are so many great options! We also tried the Burrato special with spiced honey and roasted pine nuts. Service was very good for a Sunday evening, and the restaurant is not super loud! Which was very appreciated after seeing a show at Mercury down the street! Street parking is paid parking only and a bit tough to find a spot.

3% junk fee. Says the fee is to "Maintain health and sanitation" on the paper bill you get.

Well, first off I'll start by saying it was a good experience. Flavors were high, quality seemed nice. I will agree with portnoy, this pizza is FLOPPY. For coalfire, I have no idea how it gets so floppy. It's basically a soft bread with a crispy crust. It still was flavorful and good, but beating millys in the pan? I'm not sure about that personally. On top of all of that, this pizza is EXPENSIVE. 25 for 1 pizza will feed maybe 2 light eaters, but if you have a group of 4, you need at least 3 pizzas. They only offer 15 inch pizzas essentially, and their way of serving them is on the tomato sauce cans. It's a decent option, but ours wasn't cut fully so we risked toppling it to get the pizza. This place in my opinion has some work to do to beat millys but I can't say it was a bad pizza. I'm not sure I'd come back again, better options for better price points. If you crisp whatsoever, this is not your spot.

Pizza was nice and the lambrusco too, unfortunately the espresso martini was with baileys and wasnt being told before and also the server kind of got mad because we split the check and all the tip was in one card so I dunno why she got mad but nice place nevertheless

Insanely great coal fired thin crust pizza in the heart of downtown Chicago. Friendly staff in a well appointed dining room. I saw lots of customers getting it to-go but I personally would dine in if possible since it is served very hot.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian toppings to choose from.Parking: I had to park a few blocks away.Kid-friendliness: Not exactly kid focused but there weee kids wi tv families in the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a fairly high step to enter the restaurant with no ramp. Perhaps it is easier around back but this would be a challenge for a wheelchair bound ckient.

Great pizza and ambiance! I thought I’d like the jalapeno pepperoni more, but actually the sausage pizza with garlic cream (on the special menu) was superior!I couldn’t care less about the arugula on top though, I ate that before eating the pizza, the arugula felt gimmicky and was half wilted, half fresh - didn’t make too much sense as a topping. The crust at Coalfire is what really stands out - not oily, light, airy, charred well but not burnt. It’s a special taste and when you crave that kind of crust, nothing else really competes.

Ordered an arugula and prosciutto pizza and it felt like the person making it forgot people have to actually eat it ?The amount of arugula was a bit goofy, and the prosciutto was laid in huge pieces that were bigger than the slice of pizza it was on, causing it to strip the slice of cheese.Maybe I should have specified the quantities, but I couldn’t help feeling pranked a bit, because it was so unexpected. It was alright, though not worth the cost of the meal. YMMV depending on what you get though!

The service was terrible: worst I've experienced in Chicago. The waiter brought the bill 5 min after we got our main course, and had to reprint and bring a new one every few minutes. We felt like they were trying to kick us out. Good pizza, but bad experience. I live next door but haven't been back the past few months. I won't go back.
