Love this place!! Is it ever reopening??
Well... went on a Saturday at noon and they were closed. No notice on the door, no notice on their facebook or instagram. Just not opened even though their schedule on the door says 7am-3pm. This was supposed to be a nice Valentine's weekend stop and they are just not reliable. Looking at some of the reviews maybe if they were open it wouldn't have been a great service. But the big takeaway is this place being unreliable.
I have really enjoyed going to this place in the past, but it seems they are not open during their posted times. This is my third time trying in the past couple of months during posted hours and the doors are locked.
The only reason it now has 4 stars because it closes at 3 now. I understand maybe business or something but if it was open until 7pm or 8pm on a Thurs or Friday I think more people would enjoy the desserts or evening drink. The desserts are some of the best. Great chocolate cake and cannolis. Their cocktails were excellent. Their breakfast sandwich was really prepared well and very tasty (not pictured). I recommend!
This place is tasty. It's a bit of a desert bar serving up sweet things like cakes, pastries and coffee. They have a bar too and it's a great spot to just swing by or a nice addition to an evening meal. We think anything from this place with chocolate typically scores a 5-star, but honestly ... try the whole menu, you really cannot go wrong at Decadent Chicago.
I’m a hotelier so my feedback is focused on details. This location is held back by poor service and cleanliness issues. When we arrived the host/server was on her phone and continued to be on it after directing us to the QR code. After that she would disappear to the back unless we’d update our tab thru the app.
The ambience is dead. Warmth and a personal touch would enhance the experience, perhaps some music as well. The utensils were dirty with hardened cheese, food crumbs and dirty floors which the server could take care of during her downtime. Management should focus on setting firm expectations and monitoring service, this would make this place reach its obvious potential which is the only reason I took the time to write this review.
Food and presentation was okay but you can tell the cooks could do better, they probably see how everything else slips thru the cracks and they just go thru the motions of putting food out without adding that extra touch.
Indoor decor was nice but I think the outside would benefit from a sign with more flare (take a look across the block at Chicago Waffle), and the windows need cleaning. I think this place could be a gem but it’s plagued by lack of direction and vision.
Highly recommend this almost hidden gem. Everything from atmosphere to the great variety of food options is perfect. And it’s not overly crowded.
I went in for a brief break to grab a coffee and ended up staying for hours because I was so comfortable and full. I’ll definitely be back.
Seamless ordering by scanning a QR code which allows you to order and pay. The only issue we had is we were never offered anymore water, and needed more napkins. Perhaps provide a pitcher of water and more than one napkin/guest. We chose to sit upstairs and it was impossible to get the attention of staff. I would still return as the salad I had was very fresh and tasty.
Outstanding food. Extended service. Try it you will love it. Last minute family get together. Best cake ❤️
I don’t think the owner is serious about building this business (going by work ethic, or perhaps it’s just inexperience).
Today is the Chicago Marathon and the place is closed
This would’ve been an opportunity to fill decadent with Marathon spectators.
Recently there was a massive conference at McCormick place (20000 delegates) and Decadent was still empty. This is a prime spot for a good restaurant and they’re wasting so many opportunities. When they have been open and I’ve been inside, the staff don’t seem to be too helpful e.g. locking up the upstairs area hours ahead of closure with lame excuses.
The food is good if you don’t mind sitting in an empty place with no atmosphere. It’s good if you want to have a conversation (difficult with loud music in Victory Tap across the road).

The shimp & grits and the eggs, bacon/sausage & cheese croissant were amazing! Seasoned to perfection with every bite. I did not leave one crumb on my plate. My sister and I met 2 of the owners, Chelsea and Charlotte of Decadent Dessert and Bistro after a Chicago Sky game over a month ago and they invited us to visit their restaurant. And, I am so glad that I did.
One happy customer! ?

Stopped for breakfast on a family vacation and enjoyed everything we ate and drank. One of the better Americano's I've had in a while. Service was great. My daughter spilled her Orange Juice and the server was very patient and understanding and handled it like a pro. Would absolutely eat here again.
