I treated my sister and mother out for lunch. The ambience and decor was lovely. The food was delicious. And the service was great!
My meal was pathetic. Salad of Tuna Crudon was tiny and tasteless, the grapefruit was over ripe and not tarty at all. The sweet potato chips were so salty they were hard to eat and I had to smother them in sauce to be edible. They also charged our friend who paid, three times the amount and refused to refund. Saying she had to dispute it with her bank! So very disappointing
Everything about this place was great until it wasn't. I ordered a chicken sandwich and a corn dish which I was throwing up all morning the next day (Easter). I emailed the restaurant about this a couple days later, and they just ignored me.
FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar is a top-notch spot for farm-to-table dining in Chicago. I started with the Roasted Beet Salad, which was fresh and flavorful. For the main course, I had the Flat Iron Steak Frites; the steak was cooked perfectly, and the fries were crispy and delicious. To wash it down, I enjoyed a craft cocktail from their extensive drink menu. The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Expect to spend around $60 per person for a satisfying meal here.
FireLake Grill House is the perfect spot for a nice night out! The vibe is upscale but still chill—perfect for date night or a celebratory dinner. I had the farm-to-table grilled salmon and a side of roasted veggies, and let me tell you, the flavors were on point. The cocktail list was impressive too, I had the 'FireLake Mule' and it was fire (pun intended). Ended up spending around $60 with tip, which was totally worth it for the quality and experience. If you're looking for a spot with great food and drinks in the heart of downtown, this place is a must-try.
Highly recommend the blueberry martini. It was phenomenal and so was the crème brûlée. Our waiter was Russ and I will ask for him every time. He was great. Informational and just all around great waiter. Only thing I wish it was an adult only restaurant or at least adult needs to be present-had a group of six teens girls sitting behind us who were a bit obnoxious.
Party of 8 for a family dinner. Allergies were accommodated, there were food options for meat eaters and pescatarians, and their side dishes were delicious! The staff was friendly and personable. Would go again!
Dietary restrictions: They were very understanding and accommodating of a pepper, dairy, and gluten allergy.

Had the FireLake burger. Exactly the way I wanted and generous portion. I've had this more than once. Never disappoints.

I enjoyed my time here. Blueberry tea was really good. Wish they would serve less sweets and more food for the afternoon tea. Our waiter was perfect.

Terrible service (the worst I have had in a long time) and the hostess was incredibly rude. Food was OK but it’s Chicago so do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

Stopped by for drinks, tried their signature cocktails. This place is definitely catered for a crowd that has money, and once again I am convinced that this crowd doesn't know what good flavors are.
The drinks that I expected to come in tall glasses came in short ball, and were pretty much unpalatable for the two that we tried. They both ended up being very bitter for what they were made out of.
We got 2 cocktails and spent 40$.
Go next door to the CVS and pick up alcohol that's worth the money.
Also $65 for a New York strip should be a crime.

Felt a bit like eating in a slightly upscale cafeteria. The food was fine and a good price, but not particularly distinctive. They handled my wife's soy allergy quite well, which was greatly appreciated!
Dietary restrictions: Effectively handled my wife's soy allergy.

I wanted to like this place. We finished a two hour walking tour and we were excited that it ended in the lobby of the hotel with a bar. As we asked for a table, we were asked if we were hotel guests. That’ shouldn’t matter. We were then told we couldn’t sit in the lower seats end only at the high top bar or outside k inside as empty ) and then other guests were seated there immediately after. We asked to move, which they obliged. We ordered and waited for 25 minutes for our drinks, our food came out before our drinks. We had to ask for waters. We had ordered all appetizers and never received small sharing plates. Wait staff grabbed plates before we were finished. Never refilled waters. We asked for a second round of a canned beverage to hopefully get it faster. Waitress came back said they didn’t have it and walked off. Never asked if we wanted anything else or if we wanted to see the menu. Food was okay pretty over salted. Building is neat but service is terrible.
