I've had every deep dish/pan pizza of note in Chicago in the last 30 years and George's is the best. That includes legends like Burt's and every place that's been on any best pizza list - Pizano's, Malnati's, Pequod's, Millie's, Labriola, etc.

We dined in on an early Friday evening (made reservations, selected our meal and paid online all before we arrived) and it was a very welcoming space. Only seating for about 20 or so people inside but at the time we were there it was half full (probably purposely). We got the 14" Build A George with Italian Sausage, Cremini Mushrooms and Ricotta and I could barely take the picture before we got to devouring a good portion of this pizza (we ate the rest at home later). The pizza was expertly made by George and he came out and said hello afterwards too. While I left the restaurant full, I didn't feel bogged down like I normally would when I eat deep dish pizza. Even though we didn't participate this time, the restaurant is BYOB so make sure you bring your favorite beverage with you. The hype is real, this is a top notch pizza

My husband and I came here last Saturday. Since we are out of towners, we didn't anticipate on the fact that their pizzas take 40 to 45 minutes to bake. Whoops. The place is pretty cool inside, however it was very clear that the majority of their clientele, at least for a Saturday afternoon, was nearly all takeout. The locals seem to be well aware of the time constraints of the readiness for pizza. We enjoyed the '80s music videos shown on the TV and I enjoyed the large cut out of Nathan Fillion standing in the corner. Once we got our pizza, it was really very good. In fact it was so good, that my husband and I both somewhat burned the roofs of our mouths eating it before I could cool down enough to be safely consumed without mouth burns. The woman who worked there seemed nice, but aloof, which was fine with us. I doubt we'll be in Chicago again, but if possible, we would eat here again.

Georges is great pizza. It was delicious flavorful and the people there were very friendly. We had the Spaghetti Meatball pizza and a pepperoni and sausage pizza. Was alot of food and we had plenty of leftovers!

**4.5 Stars** Very impressed by our first visit to George's Deep Dish, another in a line of impressive gourmet, order-ahead pizza options borne out of the pandemic. Like Milly's Pizza in the Pan, its closest competition (in both distance and quality), George's is a pan style play on deep dish and Detroit style pizza, light and airy with a caramelized crust. Both places offer quality pies and noticeably fresh ingredients, but other than a higher price point and the need to order in advance, that's actually where the similarities end. George's does an excellent job with toppings - just look how much spinach and mushrooms we got on our pie. Yes, it needed a little extra salt and some garlic, but the toppings were fresh and delicious, particularly the mushrooms. I was similarly impressed by the cheese, flavorful and plentiful with a great pull. The star, however, is the sauce. It's a sweeter sauce, but not cloyingly so like you might find at Lou Malnati's. It's extremely well balanced with salt and a little bit of heat, just a great sauce unlike any I've had in Chicago. Extremely impressive. While I loved the inner crust of the pizza, light and airy and able to stand up to the toppings, I really wish the caramelized crust went a little harder and a bit lower on the edge of the crust- it's more like hinting at that famous style than actually fully executing it. And, while I am usually a fan of some cornmeal underneath my crust, it was only full cooked closer to the edge, and completely uncooked in the center. If those two things were tightened up, I'm pretty sure this would become my favorite pizza in the city. That said, George's is another excellent option for those who want something beyond the usual pizza pie.

Took a lift to try the pizza and were told they wouldn't serve us because they had preorders. I would call before.

It's truly a crime that this place doesn't have more reviews. This is one of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life. The sourdough is splendid, giving the crust a beautiful balance between soft and crunchy. The sauce is out of this world, I wish they sold jars of it so I could eat it more often. Every topping is incredibly flavorful and fresh. My favorites were the ricotta, cherry tomatoes, beef meatballs, and spinach.Make sure to preorder at least a day before you plan to go, since they make a limited amount of pizzas. Do yourself a favor and order the larger size, that way you can enjoy leftovers once you're back home and dreaming about the pizza! I can't wait to come back here again soon!

Best pizza I have ever had! Pizza took about 35 minutes to come out because we did not place a reservation ahead of time, so I recommend placing the reservation beforehand. They make their dough daily so the wait was definitely worth it! Pizza sauce was absolutely delicious and the cheese had an awesome cheese pull! Everything tasted fresh and I absolutely recommend following up the pizza with a slice of the cheesecake. Tasted like homemade caramel and was delicious. Best cheesecake I have ever had as well. Atmosphere is really good, and George's mom was hosting, she was the sweetest! Overall an amazing experience and everyone should check this place out!
