I went to Indienne with friends to celebrate 50th birthdays. The experience did not disappoint. Indienne delivered an exceptional dining experience with its tasting menu. The food was truly phenomenal—beautifully presented, thoughtful, and layered with bold yet refined flavors that felt both creative and rooted in tradition. Each course was memorable with different takes on recognizable dishes. While the drinks were just okay and didn’t quite rise to the same level as the food, they also didn’t detract from the overall experience. The tasting menu alone makes Indienne well worth the visit, especially for anyone who appreciates inventive, high-quality cuisine.

Sometimes food is culinary art. A meal so beautiful and elevated it should be framed. That is the cuisine of Indienne, The menu is simply amazing, with the most important element being that it’s incredibly delicious! The Indian flavors are so unique, you close your eyes with delight as you savor each bite. Indienne deserves its Michelin Star and the price tag accompanying this progressive dining experience. Perfect for a holiday or special event, each dish is a stand out. The lamb Kebab, Lobster Ghee roast, Scallop Cafreal, Chicken Makhani and Sea Bass Curry (if you choose the Pescatarian Tasting) are dishes that will visit your dreams. The service is top notch, the environment lovely, the cocktails and wine list exceptional. So if Indian food is your love, or you simply desire something incredible, visit this upscale reimagining. You will not be disappointed.

Absolute gastronomic delight! We tried the prefix menu and initially thought we would have to stop at a McDonald's to fill up after but we were stuffed to our gills way before the last course. Each course was totally different and so flavorful, kudos to the chef!

Our experience at Indienne was amazing from start to finish. Every dish was unique and spectacular, even the tiny bites. Service was excellent as well. Chef Sujan Sarkar is truly a master of melding Indian cuisine and spices/flavors with fine dining. Having eaten at many Michelin 1 and 2 stars, we feel Indienne far surpasses other Michelin 1 star restaurants and should be at least a 2 star! We will definitely return to dine again at Indienne.

Words cannot describe how amazing this overall experience was, but I will try my best. The food takes you on a journey of mending flavors from different parts of India, and the waiters do a great job explaining what each item is and how to best enjoy the flavors of it. The service was very prompt and accommodating, would highly recommend.

The food was very good, but several service related issues held the experience back. I had noted in the reservation that we were celebrating my partner’s birthday and requested a cake option, yet she was only given a candle. I am not sure why a cake selection is even offered during booking if it is not honored.
Upon arrival, the host who checked us in was noticeably cold and unwelcoming. Hospitality begins at the door, and that first interaction truly sets the tone.
Our server did provide overall good service, though I did notice what appeared to be a cut covered with a bandage on his hand during the first half of the evening. It was not until later that he put on a glove. Additionally, I counted four instances where silverware fell to the floor nearby. Details like that matter in a restaurant striving for a high standard.
Altogether, the inconsistencies add up and I can understand how the restaurant may have lost a star over time. The food was enjoyable, but the execution and attention to detail need improvement.

Went there for a birthday celebration and the food was creative, delicious & had a lot of flavors of home for me! The part i didnt like was how the service was always trying to rush us and interrupting us. It was tough to even get a minute of a conversation in without having someone trying to service our table. Even when we were in the middle of eating a course, service staff to come over too much and rush us into finishing the food. It was too overbearing, with constant hovering from the service staff.

An impeccable introduction to Indian fine dining.
To me, Indian food in the U.S. has felt stuck in the same loop. Either the chicken and curry combos you find at neighborhood spots or the frozen packs at grocery stores. Even in cities like NYC, the choices are usually traditional or hyper-regional rather than pushing into the domain of fine dining. Compared to what I’ve heard about the contemporary restaurant scene in India, the Indian food scene here feels monotone.
Indienne felt like a meaningful shift. Chef Sarkar blends Indian flavors with French technique, and while the dishes still felt familiar, they opened up an entirely new flavor spectrum for me.
They offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus, and we all chose the latter. Because Indian spices can overpower easily, the kitchen held back a bit, and even on the non-veg side, the proteins were relatively conservative. But there was still plenty that felt new.
The first four bites were especially memorable. Instead of the usual savory amuse-bouche, everything leaned sweet. The dhokla might’ve been the most interesting first bite I’ve had in a fine dining setting. Almost like frozen cornbread in texture with a gentle sweetness spiced up with curry leaf and mustard. The avocado bhel was sweet and aromatic, and the yogurt chaat had this interesting temperature play that made it fun to eat.
For the later protein dishes, I found myself wanting a bit more Indian identity. Something beyond “French dish with a smear of Indian spice.” It reminded me of some contemporary Dutch restaurants that use Indian spices as accents. Good food, but not quite what I expected from an Indian tasting menu. Still, one dish blew everyone away.
The Chicken Makhni. Essentially butter chicken reimagined. Chicken mousse shaped into a breast, spiced, and cooked so the texture stayed incredibly soft while absorbing the sauce like a sponge. The result was an almost explosive umami you don’t get from traditional butter chicken. And the naan it came with was unreal. Rich, buttery, and perfect for soaking up that spicy red pepper makhni.
Desserts were the weakest section, but honestly, given the price, the meal felt more than worth it. If you’re looking to expand your sense of what Indian food can be, Indienne is absolutely worth a visit.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Indienna Restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance and inviting aromas set the tone for an unforgettable meal. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure every detail was taken care of.
The food was the true highlight—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. Every dish had its own unique blend of spices that showcased authentic Indian cuisine while still feeling fresh and modern. The portions were generous, and the quality was exceptional.
Whether you’re trying Indian food for the first time or you’re a long-time fan, Indienna Restaurant is a must-visit. I left completely satisfied and excited to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a memorable dining experience!
