Went to an event recently with the most amazing charcuterie I have seen. The host said it was reasonably priced as well. I highly recommend!

I recently hosted a 50th birthday party for my wife with approx. 175 guests. Nit and his team helped make this event the greatest night of our lives. From first contact, to the tasting, to executing flawlesly the night of the event, everything was top notch and professional !! The tasting was a first of its kind experience for me and everything was so delicious it was hard to decide what not to include... but Nit helped guide my decisions, knowing from experience what people want to eat at a party, how they want to eat it, and how much of it they will eat.. but his greatest feat of the night may have been his last minute change to the floor plan to put a quad bar in the middle of the room, resulting in quick, no line beverage service the entire evening! I received many compliments specifically about just that!! They served alcohol provided by me, and when we started to get low on tequila and vodka, Nit sprung into action, ran down the street, and came back with 7 bottles of each!! I wanted food stations and not a sit down dinner. they set up 3 stations around the room, each with something different, as well as an amazing desert table, and the service from the staff was outstanding !! I would definitely recommend using J&L catering for your event. I would also recommend slightly over estimating your number of guests as I did to be sure you hopefully have a little leftovers of each item, not only because it was delicious, but because if you have no leftovers, it means at some point, you ran out... Thank you Nit and the staff at J&L catering !!

The J & L team led by Jim were excellent start to finish. From the beginning Jim was prompt and through with his queries as well as in his answers to our questions. We had a wonderful tasting and their chef planned a delicious meal for our wedding. Jim made sure our wedding day was seamless and we were able to enjoy our day to the fullest without any worries. Karly and team at J&L catered our approximately 200 person wedding and did a fantastic job. Their menu of appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts has so many great options to choose from that you can not go wrong. During our tasting a few months before the wedding, they were very flexible, adjusting dishes to meet our tastes and preferences. They also did a great job of accommodating guests with dietary restrictions. The servers and staff were very friendly and professional at our wedding and the food was excellent. Some guests even commented "this is the best food I've had at a wedding!" I would highly recommend using J&L to cater your next event.

From our initial conversations Karly understood the vision of our Indian/Latin fusion wedding and delivered the most creative menu! She was extremely responsive throughout the entire process and made the whole experience seamless. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the food/drinks. The service was impeccable and the staff always made sure my husband and I were fed and had a drink in our hand. J&L went above and beyond to make our wedding so special and unique!

After doing business with J & L for 30 years it's time to part ways. We hired them for a dinner and the setup happened so late that it interfered with the arrival of our guests and just looked sloppy and unprofessional. The kitchen looked like a disaster and no joke the captain got ketchup and mustard all over their blouse but didn't have a change of shirts so looked like a mess the whole evening. The takedown was even worse with loud clanging of tables and stacking of chairs right in front of our guests, in a tight space. This was extremely embarrassing to us as the hosts. We should have received all leftovers but we didn't. Somehow many of the items were simply missing at the end of the night, despite my making clear that we expected to have all leftovers and their accompanying parts at the end of the evening. Overall, a miss in many ways. This used to be a fantastic caterer. There was no excuse for the sloppy execution. Worse than all of the above was that my feedback fell on deaf ears...
Staff: Owner (Ted) will commit to a rate/hr to get you to book work, then short in paycheck (by half). Have in email, his claim his partners decided lesser rate - so don't count on his word. Tips go astray or diminished by Cater Captains not distributing cash properly. Good food but not worth getting cheated on pay. Too many other places to work, esp these days!
