i'm all about the small diner vibe but my chicken gyros and fries, with credit card fee (!), tax, and tip, was $19. i was on lunch and hoping to get a low cost mid day meal but not today. the pita bread was a little tough and the fries were just slightly over done. sorry! also FYI the pictured folded menu in the google listing is 7 years old and most things are more $$ now.
I work close to this place and never stopped in until today. I was pleasantly surprised! The couple running the place we're very friendly and prompt. The food was excellent as well. The only bummer is parking is limited but since they are right by bus depot they have a steady flow of foot traffic looking for a quick bite to eat. The food is tasty and a better option than the golden arches right next door.
Great place to grab a bite to eat while in Jefferson Park. It's quaint, comfortable and perfect for a no fuss quiet meal. Conveniently located within bus/train station...however not really good parking options and absolutely do NOT park behind the restaurant in the little lot or you will get towed. I've been here more times than I can count and the food is always fresh, hot and tastes great. There are always daily specials, as well as two soup offerings. Several breakfast...
