We are from out of town. The Uber dropped us off on the wrong street, but you can find this restaurant in the food court of the train station. Everything was sooooo good, and the owner is so nice! I had the shrimp and grits; the hubby had the meatloaf and garlic potatoes. There was enough for lunch and dinner. I wish that we lived closer; I would definitely return.

I was in Chicago for a conference and wanted to eat somewhere Black-owned before I left. Yelp had Kathryn's Soul as nearby and rated well so I gave it a try. I ordered a peach cobbler, a cornbread and a shrimp and chicken alfredo. I ordered it through the website for delivery so I'm not sure what delivery service it was but I'm sure it was a third party like Door Dash. I only received the shrimp and chicken alfredo. I don't know if the peach cobbler and cornbread never made it into the bag or if my door dasher stole my food but I was really looking forward to that peach cobbler. Anyway lol the shrimp and chicken alfredo was fire. The sauce was flavorful and the seasoned well. Although I think I would order the shrimp alfredo next time. The portion size was hefty. If I had a microwave in the hotel room, I would have had lunch and dinner. I would definitely return next time I'm in Chicago.

Literally my favorite place to order from at French Market. There's a wait because dverything is made to order so it's def worth the wait.Google doesn't include this on the recommended, but I def recommended the loaded baked potato with shrimp and their cabbage side as well.

I can't really comment on ambiance because it's at French Market but it's def my favorite place to eat at when I go. Everything is made to order so there's def a wait but it's so worth it. I've had their loaded baked potato with shrimp, shrimp alfredo, cabbage with bacon, candied yams, and banana pudding. It's so satisfying and comforting to eat every time. I'm honestly craving them right now as I write this review.

A disgrace to Black owned businesses. Attempted to order food, the menu did not match online ordering, placed order only for it to be canceled, tried to call and no answer. Horrible business!

I am writing this review because I am very impressed with the service I received from 'Kathryn's Soul' restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was Professional, Courteous and Informative. I spoke to the owner personally and informed her that I am a Senior and needed help with ordering and delivery options. She was very kind and patient. She took time out of her busy schedule and went over everything with me! Thank you Kathryn and Happy Holidays!

My job had our food catered from Kathryn's and all I can say is that it was the best turkey I've ever had. I don't even eat turkey and it was so juicy and full of soul flavor. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese tasted like Big Mamma's food. You must try them as their food is simply delicious!

I’m pretty sure I ended up eating a glass shard (or something very similar to it) that was in the Mac n cheese, my friend asked me why I was gagging so bad and it’s cause I was terrified I was chewing something hard while eating the Mac n cheese, I ended up pulling a piece of glass out my mouth and was disgusted. I went to the owner and told her about it because I’m concerned about health and well beings and she said she doesn’t have any glass and said nothing more after I showed her what I pulled out her food. She was dismissive and looked at me like I was crazy like I was the one that fed her glass. I was super excited to try this place out, got a little disappointed with the customer service .

Kathryn herself reached out to me. She apologized profusely for my last (horrible) experience. (As I said, this food experience was SO unlike hers.)Unfortunately, Kathryn was not there for a bit and had someone else "minding the shop." I get it, and let's hope this person is no longer left in charge. I will be ordered again, at some point. I do think Kathryn is a sincere person. I appreciated her owning what happened and explaining it. I WILL be back to order and try this again. I cannot imagine my favorite meatloaf has gone awry!

Very disorganized. Blamed me for taking the wrong order when they GAVE me the wrong order after I repeated to them what I ordered more than twice. They took the wrong order back which I had used the utensils to check the order and gave it to the right customer without checking the contents. Now one of their customers has a dirty fork.Food was dry and bland. They’re just microwaving the food. All the flavor is just gone.

Located in the French Market / train station, a little off the beaten path. Good spot when you need a break from the tourist crowd. My server was very friendly. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was very flavorful as well as cheesy. Although I'm not a fan of instant grits, I'm assuming, the dish was delicious. The portion size was very good and filling.

I really enjoyed my food and the service offered here. I had the shrimp and grits, Mac and cheese and roastedchicken. My friend had the loaded baked potato. We both had fresh lemonade ? everything was delicious. I didn't know this was a market place where it is shared by other vendors but I will said the food I ate Kathryn' Soul made me not want any other food offered there. The owner has true hospitality. She brought our food to our table personally with a smile. Thank you ?
