Kizin Creole Restaurant Reviews
This place, like many Haitian restaurants does not keep to their posted business hours. Per Google, they confirmed three weeks ago that they were open on Saturdays from noon to 9 PM. I am sitting outside at 12:30 PM and they are not open. I attempted to purchase food from here about a month ago and the same thing happened. This is especially annoying because I come all the way from Milwaukee Wisconsin just to purchase food here, as they are the closest Haitian restaurant in existence....read full review
We flew in from Florida to Chicago try out Kizin restaurant when me and my wife arrive nobody was there to greet us at the entrance. We was standing around for at least 5-10 minutes before a 10 year old girl came to us to seat us while she was playing with her crayons. I’ve been to a lot of Haitian restaurant in Miami and Fort Lauderdale even your low budget restaurant in Florida gives you better service and food then what we received at Kizin restaurant I was expecting higher...read full review

Kizin Creole Restaurant offers authentic and flavorful Creole cuisine, suitable for various dietary preferences. Standout dishes include the Diri Djondjon, steamed vegetables, Griyo, and chicken stew. The Griyo, a fried pork dish, and the chicken stew are particularly noteworthy for their succulent meat and rich flavors. Customers often praise the fried goat and Griyo, which is braised and then fried pork belly, known for its tender and crispy texture. The mac and cheese, reminiscent of Trinidadian Macaroni Pie, is baked with a mild pepper flavor, though some find it could be improved. The restaurant also features popular sides like Bannann Peze (fried plantain) and Marinad (fried spiced fritters), which are flavorful and so good that diners frequently order seconds. The rice and beans, including white rice with black beans and diri djondjon, complement the dishes well, while pikliz (spicy coleslaw) adds a sharp, vinegary spice. The Turkey Creole Stew is hearty and full of flavor, with generous portions of turkey. The passion fruit beverage offers a sweet, refreshing contrast. This restaurant is a favorite spot for many, especially for the delicious and nutritious takeout options enjoyed on picnics with family and friends. The appetizer sampler is a fun start, and the oxtail and goat are praised for being tender and flavorful. Located in Evanston or Skokie, or visiting Chicago, Kizin Creole is a top choice for an authentic taste of Creole culture and a memorable dining experience. The friendly and caring service from the owners and staff makes every visit special.
