I'm so happy to have found a proper French bakery in Chicago finally! Staff is super friendly, and everyone is greeted with "bonjour" walking in the door. Ils parlent Français! Classic pastry items are all very delicious, croissant, pain du chocolat, almond croissant...etc. They have a good selection of delicious breads, too. We got the chocolate pound cake and a pain de chocolat, and 3 types of macarons (mango passion fruit, red velvet, and pistachio). The pound cake was absolutely delicious -- if you're a chocolate person, definitely try it. It's like a cakey brownie that's rich and moist. Out of the macrons, the pistachio was easily the best but they were all delicious. The pain de chocolat was huge and disappointing with the amount of filling. Otherwise, the pastry was crisp and buttery!
