Lived in Chicago for ten years, hands down the best Italian beef in the city. Anyone bringing up chains like Al’s has no taste buds. The bread and the beef here are unreal. You can order it any way you want, and the vibe is pure Chicago, indulgent and unapologetic. Pro tip, get the cheese fries on the side

We got there right before they were closing and they were so nice to let us order and I'm glad they did. Wow what am amazing beef sandwich. Got it with all the fixings. a bit messy to eat but that's the fun part. Must go if you're in Chicago.

The sandwich was too wet and soggy though the taste was good. There were no places to sit and there was a long line to order.

Greatest sandwich on planet earth. There is literally nothing better. The staff is animated and fun. The music is fantastic (old skool hip hop) and the sandwich couldn’t be beat with a baseball bat and some rope. YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS BEEF. You have to have this beef. Do not miss this sandwich.

Wow. All I can say. Lives up to its reputation. Hot dog had perfect snap. The fries were salty crispy good. Got my Italian beef “hot and wet.” So dunked in the au jus and topped with gardenia. The long communal table completes the local vibe - everyone eats together.

Been to Chicago three times in my life, and only once as a fan of FX’s The Bear, so I was overdue trying Mr.Beef, the inspiration for the series!

Line wasn’t crazy, my friends held it down for 30 minutes, I had just landed.

I ordered the Sweet Italian Beef, Sweet & Dipped…9/10! My friends had the Sweet & Spicy…10/10! Bread perfectly baked. Meat was savory & flavorful. Peppers balanced well. Hype Met!

Fries and cheese sauce also on point. Crispy and not overly salted. Burger, nothing to brag about. Will be trying the sausage next time!

Staff was friendly and family style tables make for an community feel! The owner, Chris Zucchero was there; cool dude!

So far, this is my favorite Italian Beef in Chicago. I've tried 4 other well known Italian Beef places that were also good, but Mr. Beef takes it to a new level. Definitely lives up to the hype and the service is great.

It was good. Line gets long, but it's not too bad. There is a cash line and credit card line. Cash gets your food faster since that queue is separate. Worth checking out and glad I did!

Stopped by Mr. Beef, the iconic Chicago beef stand that inspired and was featured in the hit series The Bear — and let me tell you, it’s every bit as authentic as it looks on screen. Mr. Beef absolutely lives up to its reputation.

Glad I tried an Italian beef while in River North (solid spot for being in the Tourist district). We got the wet Italian beef with combo hot and sweet peppers and it was a solid sandwich. Split one with a friend and it was the perfect snack for 2 small appetites.

Service was fast and to the point, with one till for cash and one for credit cards.

On a Thursday went around 11:30 am and it was chill, by noon it was packed for the lunch rush.
