Panes is my favorite sandwich place in Chicago! Their sandwiches are delicious and reasonably priced, and they bake their own bread fresh that is also available for purchase. Their soup is quite good, and they have a variety of dessert options. I recommend calling about 20 minutes ahead to save time on pickup orders, although I also enjoy walking in to eat there, with natural light and fun art on the walls. I usually order the Super Panes, although the Todo Italiano is also a favorite!

I used to get my lunch here multiple times a week when I nannied next door. Super dangerous. I lived in Lakeview at the time and would still get this for lunch on weekends. Once I started moving out west and south I tried coming in every so often because it's that good!! Any time I get my order messed up when I order out elsewhere I think of this spot where you canorder anything and not be upset by your choice. Oh and def try their baked breads!

Panes Bread Cafe is a cute brunch spot and bakery located off Sheffield. The food is all really reasonably priced and extremely delicious. The portion sizes are wonderful too. For some reason, the decor is part Iowa Hawkeyes fan part Hispanic culture, but it really works. Highly recommend anyone stop by.

Fresh bread and great quality. The chicken club on ciabatta with spicy mayo is great!

Great cafe with a variety of delicious menu items. I had the Pollo Diablo sandwich which was fantastic. The bread and all the other ingredients were fresh and the portions are generous. My only complaint is that I live 705 miles away but I always make it a point to stop with every visit to Chicago.

This place is great. It's in the midst of a bunch of pricier places so I do appreciate that they have great food and at a great price. Their menu is pretty diverse so it's nice to not be tied to a particular cuisine. Cooks and staff obviously take pride in their space and their food. Check them out.

In a city full of eating options this is consistently great food and they have been doing it for a very long time. No doubt some of the best sandwiches in the city. Warm fresh bread and ingredients. Tasty!!! They focus on what they do best. I love the Pompazo and my wife goes for the Chicken Club. Definitely get the garlic potatoe salad.

The Oaxacan Pork is my favorite sandwich in Chicago. I love the people who run this place too. Great service, great food—I can’t ask for anything more. I have inconvenienced myself to eat there in the past and I will again in the future.

Delicious!!! Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because of how long I waited in the store to get 2 sandwiches! It took about 40 minutes and the places wasn't even that busy. Besides this, great spot!
