It was a Saturday, so the restaurant was extremely overcrowded. They didn't have enough seating for people who wanted to come and sit the burger the fries the sauce the watermelon drink was all really good. I'd go back again but not to this location. Parking sucks. The prices are affordable for three people with three burgers and two fries and one drink was about $30 I mean where can you go anymore anyway to get food that's affordable! The service was pretty easy. You didn't have to talk to anybody all they had to do was make the food and call the number when it's ready they have kiosk where you order the food that helps too because you don't have to put up with the employees who hired who are mostly rude obnoxious employees that are just going to give you bad service where you spend your hard earned $$ but this was not the case as all I had to deal with was the machine. lol

The burger is really good as long as they don't overcook the meat. I also think they could use better pickles. But overall it's one of the better burgers

I love the smashburger and SALT makes a very good one. The patty is pressed really flat and is grilled up until well browned, crispy and lacey. The onion rings are fantastic. This is really close to a 5 star smashburger, one of the drawbacks for me being that the standard fixins on the OG burger (specifically tomato and smash sauce) can leave the bun soggy and messy. I should preface my second critique by noting I love salty foods, with that said, the patty is overly seasoned for me (a proprietary mix of salt, pepper, and other seasonings like garlic or onion powder?). I wish there was a way to request less seasoning. The ordering interface actually does allow for adding more of any individual topping, or to eliminate a topping entirely, but it does not allow you to request less of any item, and the salt seasoning is not on the list to customize at all. SALT serves up a very nice smashburger and some outta sight onion rings.

Very mushy, salty, messy burger. Where’s the cheese? Don’t know why it was so wet, bun was drenched. Strong pickle taste. Fries were extra and undercooked. Not with the cost. Would not recommend.

It was one of the best lunches I've had in a while. I liked the taste very much and the packaging was very hygienic.

So I'm always looking for a good burger joint. It's unusual that's I find one I haven't heard of though. This one popped up tonight on a search and I thought it was a mistake. Taking up the old IDOF space on Sheridan, this newish place is a solid spot for burgers. Honestly the burger I had (a double with everything plus peppers) is one of the best I've had in forever. The patties were seasoned perfectly and it has the exact right amount of crisp on the edges. The bun at first seemed like it was going to be too small, but it actually worked perfect and the griddling gave it an awesome texture. We also got the ghost pepper onion rings, and they were great. Now be advised that this is real heat and not a tiny bit...but worth it. And this is a Coke restaurant, which is nice. The space is cute with a playful vibe. Love the astronaut painting. And the service was fast and super friendly. Had and shoulders above a place like Five Guys across the board. That is with one exception. The only thing I wasn't super happy with was my regular fries. For a place called SALT, there was none on the fried. That being said, textual they were absolutely bang on. Crispy outside with a soft inside. But I wish that there had just been some seasoning. Regardless of that misstep, this place is a banger for burgers.

The name definitely matches the burger, salty. It's a great burger for the price. Easy to place your order through self service checkout machine. The place is casual.

The food was really great! Flavorful and fresh. Would definitely order again but maybe carry out next time, unless I want to be gassed out with burger smoke. I dined there with a friend and honestly, no complaints other than they gotta get a stronger exhaust system or something. The dining area was way too smoky and the smell of grilled food stuck to my clothes, coat and hair. I didn't plan on needed to launder my winter coat this evening but I'm going to have to unless I want to smell like grilled meat. Had to knock off a star for the smoke. Great food though!

Salt was so unexpectedly good. It is very unassuming on the Loyola campus and when we stumbled upon it, the place was empty. I'm so glad that we found it though. The prices are so reasonable and the food is just so good. The fries were golden and crispy and although I didn't get a burger, my boyfriend was obsessed with his. I will definitely be coming back to try the burgers.

Fries are really good. Staff seemed unresponsive for some reason.

Pretty fast service, good burgers and fries. All you really need from a burger joint -- plus it's a bit more affordable than others. Great spot to go in and out from for a bite.

Super tasty burger! Fries are skinny, like shoestring style, and were fine but nothing special. Lemonade tasted like an elevated Crystal Light. Overall I enjoyed the meal and look forward to future burgers!
