The shawarma test so bad, it feels like they cooked chicken inside water then put on rap or ball, test very bad I'll never order again
These people will be available on Grubhub and you place an order, the delivery driver will be at their restaurant, then they cancel the order without reason and don’t answer their phone. Unacceptable

I'll never stop coming back! They catered for our museum event and even with the odds stacked against them for a crunch, they made it happen. Got a number of compliments on both the hot sauce + the fry & flavor of the falafel. I was thankful for the price.

I ordered the meat combo and the meat was extremely old and dry. I had to throw it in the trash. They did however issue me a refund without dispute. She said they heated up frozen meat in a pan so that’s why it was bad? The quality has definitely gone down hill. I will not be ordering from them again.

I’ve lived off the Sultan’s Market location on North Ave in Wicker Park. That spot is legendary. I recently stopped by the Lincoln Park location. It’s okay. Same great menu and portion sizes, but I always get the lamb shawarma plate, and the meat was kind of bland. It didn’t have the rich flavor it usually gets from hours marinating on the vertical spit. Everything else was also just okay. This location feels more like a “fast-food kiosk” version of the original.

The employees there seem to have dark personalities.
The ambiance feels uncomfortable and scary.
They don't know how to provide service with a genuine wholesome smile.
They're not very good at proper hospitality.

Lentil soup was great. The rice was stuck together, but they offer Tabbouleh (salad) to it.
This place is not about middle east atmosphere, just to grab some food.

Hello Sultan Market, I am a customer with yours on a daily basis. I have one meal that I take daily. I am sure that you will get to know this branch, chicken shawarma without onions, tomatoes and garlic. You have two workers every time. I try to come to the restaurant only in the evening so that I do not treat racism because I am an African. I always shut up and take my meal and go, but this time on September Friday at 1:30 pm, there was a worker who sells to me as if he paid from his pocket. All the treatment changes when he is present. Fear God in yourself. There is nothing between me and you. May God help you. I am not a bad person and thank you very much for kicking me out of the restaurant.for no reason

I visited Sultan’s Market on Clark Street, Thursday, Aug 28, 2025, around 6pm, and placed an online to-go order. My daughter went inside to pick it up, and the Hispanic Latina cashier who handed her the food was unnecessarily rude. When we checked the order, the hummus was missing. That meant I had to drive back through Chicago rush hour traffic in the busy Lincoln Park neighborhood, which was very inconvenient.
When I returned, I calmly explained the situation, only to be told the hummus had been placed in the bag. This was simply not true. I asked her to check the security cameras, which would clearly confirm the mistake. Instead of accountability, I was treated as if I were trying to take advantage of the restaurant over an $8 item. That kind of baseless accusation is both unprofessional and insulting.
For over 20 years, I’ve gone to the North Ave location, usually paying in cash, and never once had a problem. This was my first time ordering online, and the service was sloppy. On top of that, the chicken was dry and disappointing. I’ve written hundreds of reviews with 200k+ views, only 3 negative total—so for me to write this says a lot.
Next time someone accuses me of stealing food, I will demand cameras be checked, not leave until they are, expect an apology, and even make a blog if necessary. This one’s a lesson to all of us as customers and workers. Don’t accuse a loyal customer of over 25 years period without proof.
