“Mercat a la Planxa was a very pleasant surprise among the very limited high quality dining options in the heart of Chicago's downtown. Our waiter had encyclopedic knowledge of the menu, including the wine selections and his recommendations were spot on. (Thank you, Samuel!) The tapas options were creatively conceived, enticingly seasoned, and expertly prepared. Situated above the main lobby of The Blackstone Hotel, the restaurant's decor reflected the foundational, classically stately design characteristic of the heyday of Chicago's grand hotels. Likewise, it reflected a handful of dubious design decisions of intervening eras. This is a restaurant that is well worth the visit, and well worth the investment of its owners to bring the design up to par with the menu and service.“

“affron Street is a gem if you're craving bold Indian flavors with a modern twist. I stopped by for dinner and got the Butter Chicken Bowl with garlic naan—super rich, creamy, and packed with spice. Also tried the Samosa Chaat, and it was the perfect mix of crispy, tangy, and savory. Spent around $25, and it was worth every penny. The spot has a cool, casual vibe, and the service was fast and friendly. If you're in the West Loop and want something flavorful and filling, this place is a must!“

“I came in because I saw the Birria Ramen on the window and wanted to try it out. Staff were attentive and kind. I didn’t know what to expect with the soup but it was good. “Such a great surprise! We had heard about La Perla and live in the neighborhood but hadn't made it over to this gem. Such a lovely evening! Food was delicious and beautifully presented. They are working out a bar issue so no alcohol for now but just go for the food! Service was beyond expectations and super accommodating. Rh r chef even came out to see how we were enjoying our choices. Run for the rigatoni! The swordfish special was awesome, Caesar salad -yum. Its location is a little hidden on Clark south of Belmont but don't pass it by.“

“YOOOO the gilty pig is insane! They have "popped up" at my farm a few times now, and each time I am amazed by the flavors and complexity they bring to "simple dishes". They take a brat and turn it into a full asian inspired meal. Now if the food wasnt enough, this truck could not be run by two better people. They deserve all of the awesome things that are coming their way. Keep killin it, guys!“

“Hands down, the best bar food in the neighborhood! Pretzel-crusted walleye is ridiculous along with the olive-sized steamed mussels. But as good as the food, the bartenders crush it even more. Responsive, accommodating and authentically friendly.“

“The dips and spreads were incredible, especially the hummus. The watermelon feta salad was so fresh and delicious. The grilled chicken and grilled halloumi kebabs were also delicious, especially the rice it was served with. This was definitely one of my favorite meals in my trip to Chicago!“

“I’ve always loved sunnygun. They have an amazing frose, it’s gin based and not too sweet. Two froses will definitely have you lit! But they also know every classic cocktail and the prices are less than most cocktail bars in west loop. My favorite bartenders are Nic and Maeve - they can make a classic cocktail or create one based off your taste. They are usually playing R&b or Rap, so it’s always a vibe. I can’t express it enough that this is my favorite cocktail bar in the city.“

“This hotel is so beautiful and I love the experience. I booked May 17th during Cowboy Carter Beyonce weekend concert and was supposed to stay at JW Marriott which I had reserved and planned for however the rooms were overbooked and there was no space for me. Management did speak with me and informed me not to worry and that they can accommodate me 4-5 minutes away at The Gwen Luxury hotel which was gorgeous. I was on the run the entire time so I did not get to enjoy everything there but I would love to come back to experience this hotel and the brunch event. I highly recommend this hotel for a birthday, anniversary, wedding or special occasion it is top tier and outstanding.“
