“Menu is versatile and delivers whether you’re going for a quick lunch or a nice dinner. Pork is the specialty and I vouch. I don’t order tenderloins at restaurants typically but this is probably the best I’ve had — perfectly cooked and a great dish overall. Not among the top echelon of Michelin restaurants ive been to, but not far behind.“

“Mercat a la Planxa was a very pleasant surprise among the very limited high quality dining options in the heart of Chicago's downtown. Our waiter had encyclopedic knowledge of the menu, including the wine selections and his recommendations were spot on. (Thank you, Samuel!) The tapas options were creatively conceived, enticingly seasoned, and expertly prepared. Situated above the main lobby of The Blackstone Hotel, the restaurant's decor reflected the foundational, classically stately design characteristic of the heyday of Chicago's grand hotels. Likewise, it reflected a handful of dubious design decisions of intervening eras. This is a restaurant that is well worth the visit, and well worth the investment of its owners to bring the design up to par with the menu and service.“

“YOOOO the gilty pig is insane! They have "popped up" at my farm a few times now, and each time I am amazed by the flavors and complexity they bring to "simple dishes". They take a brat and turn it into a full asian inspired meal. Now if the food wasnt enough, this truck could not be run by two better people. “This hotel is so beautiful and I love the experience. I booked May 17th during Cowboy Carter Beyonce weekend concert and was supposed to stay at JW Marriott which I had reserved and planned for however the rooms were overbooked and there was no space for me. Management did speak with me and informed me not to worry and that they can accommodate me 4-5 minutes away at The Gwen Luxury hotel which was gorgeous. I was on the run the entire time so I did not get to enjoy everything there but I would love to come back to experience this hotel and the brunch event. I highly recommend this hotel for a birthday, anniversary, wedding or special occasion it is top tier and outstanding.“

“Hands down, the best bar food in the neighborhood! Pretzel-crusted walleye is ridiculous along with the olive-sized steamed mussels. But as good as the food, the bartenders crush it even more. Responsive, accommodating and authentically friendly.“

Our food did come somewhat slowly, but I don’t fault them for that in the slightest since they were short staffed and were very communicative of this circumstance.“

“Le Colonial was the perfect place for our small wedding ceremony and reception with 70 guests. Pat went above and beyond helping us choose our menu and recommending an incredible florist who fit our style perfectly. On the day itself, Pat and the team were everywhere they needed to be - making sure everything ran smoothly without us having to worry about a thing. The food, the ambiance, and the service were all exceptional. Truly - a great venue for an intimate wedding.“

“Wait staff were helpful in menu choices and made time to discuss to converse during peak hours. Draw back, final tab includes 3.50% up charge creating confusion over the actual allocation. Rising cost of menu items should be added to each menu items instead of a flat 3.5% feel. This is misleading and no benefit for the wait staff. Challenge the fee and provide as an additional tip or simple retain the savings.“

“As someone born and raised in the Deep South, this soul food is some of the best I’ve ever had. They hit all the marks for me to give a 5 out of 5 , bringing a perfect balance of quantity, quality, and price. You get what you pay for, you’ll love what you’re eating, and you won’t leave hungry.

PS: Make sure to order the banana pudding. You won’t be disappointed, and I’ll vouch for it by saying it’s even better than my grandma’s family recipe (which means it’s damn good)!“

“I’ve always loved sunnygun. They have an amazing frose, it’s gin based and not too sweet. Two froses will definitely have you lit! But they also know every classic cocktail and the prices are less than most cocktail bars in west loop. My favorite bartenders are Nic and Maeve - they can make a classic cocktail or create one based off your taste. They are usually playing R&b or Rap, so it’s always a vibe. I can’t express it enough that this is my favorite cocktail bar in the city.“
