Wasnt told there was a cover until after we had already waited and sat down...

I got yelled at by a bartender because he tripped on my foot. Ordered to vacate the bar area because we took someone else’s seats. 45mins later nobody else showed up. When confronted got yelled at again. This is exactly the type of service I expect for the price I paid to have one drink here. Atrocious…

They have cover. The show is only 3 minutes every 45 minutes, so is tricky...the wrost, the guy of social media Anthony, he took advantage of the clients to obtain free consulting in the edition area.
Definitely never comeback to this place or talk with the staff.

Mediocre drinks, nice space but super tight. We missed the show waiting to be seated, so we'll go back 1 day and check it out.

We had the worst experience trying to get into this speakeasy! We waited for an hour and a half to get a call back to get inside. As soon as we got a text that they were ready for us, we responded that we were coming. We came in less than 10 min, the guy at the front did not even show up for another 5 min. Then he was so rude to us, he acknowledged that he got our text, said he would not let us in and the most he can do for us is put us at the very bottom of the waitlist. I recommend going to any other 100+ speakeasies in Chicago!!!

Such an awesome speak easy at the bottom of another bar. The tarot cards with drinks on them was a great touch. The cocktails were also very good. A great place for a different type of date night.

I read all the reviews and was super excited to go with my girlfriends. We were celebrating a birthday and looking forward to really good time. Unfortunately, The night did not go as planned. We put our name on a waiting list and were asked to wait 45 minutes. We got some drinks and waited… and waited… and waited…. and waited some more. I checked in with the hostess twice and she said we were next. Two hours later we were still waiting and the hostess could only say… “please stand to the side… we are still waiting for a table”. Multiple people entered while we simply “waited to the side.” Needless to say - our night was ruined. The hostess did not care and was very condescending. We decided to leave and unfortunately we will not return. Completely disappointed!

I waited a week before posting my review to keep hot feelings out of it. I’m not going to try and understand why we were treated this way and will only state facts. The following things happened: A group of 6 women celebrating a big bday showed up and put their names down to enter the drifter. The hostess was told the nature of the celebration and that we were from out of town on a girls weekend to celebrate our friend. We were told the wait could be a little long, maybe 45 mins. We understood and went upstairs to get drinks while waiting. Our server, Amalia, was amazing btw if you ever go to the Geen Door Tavern, as were their cocktails. The 45 mins passed, and those other groups of people waiting to get called started descending the stairs. Some were groups of 2 or 3, but others were larger. We kept waiting patiently. But then others started going down that had arrived much later than us. Then we get a text! Finally, after waiting way over an hour. We go down but it turns out we were, and I quote, “taken off the list accidentally”, according to the hostess. She claims it was a mistake and that she put us back on and that it shouldn’t be long. We, unfortunately, believed her. My friend who had picked The Drifter, told her that we had been there for an hour and a half and would be willing to split up if it meant getting seated earlier. She said no need because we were next on the list. We climbed back up, but should have left. Two hours later, we are still sitting there waiting on the text as we watched so many people go down and into the bar. Our server said that this was weird and that we should go down and talk to the hostess. Down we went…again. This time we were received with passive -aggression with the hostess insisting we would be seated shortly, kept repeating “l understand your frustration, but please move and stand along the wall”. That wall was by the bathrooms. More people were allowed in who had arrived a short time before. Again my friend says we are willing to split up because it had been two hours and change. Same response. Li understand your frustration, but please move aside and stand along this wall”. Bathroom wall. That’s when another member of our party flat out asked her, are you ever gonna let us in or no? Because we had been there for over two hours, and got no response. We asked again, please, split us up, we will take anything at this point. She said no but asked us to step aside so someone else could enter. Believe it or not, we weren’t rude or insulting or aggressive. Up till the end we were hoping for a solution and we were even making jokes of the long wait. We really wanted to give our bday girl a memorable night. This is how bad it was. People who had just gotten in line and witnessed the treatment LEFT the line with us after witnessing the exchange. Hindsight is 20-20, right? In hindsight, being magically removed from the list after an hour wait should have been a clue that this woman was not planning on letting us in. In hindsight, someone who says they understands your frustration is telling you they plan to do nothing to fix that. In hindsight, asked to move and stand to the side of the wall is telling you that you are not a priority. Live and learn. Also, the Green Tavern I highly recommend. Ask for Amalia!

The vibe was quite enjoyable. Bartenders and bar back all enjoyed what they were doing. Drinks were good and they were willing to go off menu and use some of the many different spirits they had.

Pork belly slider was hardly warm. Food was definitely something to be desired.

Awesome speakeasy in Chicago. We had a great time. A little pricey but worth the experience I think. Drinks come out on tarot cards so is very interesting! They have an extra cost for tip for the singers which is good to support rising artists.
