Every visit to The Lobby at the Peninsula Hotel is a true pleasure. The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, the service is always impeccable, and the overall experience feels special from the moment you arrive. Whether it’s for a relaxing afternoon tea or a quiet, luxurious meal, this is one of those rare places that never disappoints. I absolutely love coming here from time to time—it’s become a favorite of mine—and I’ll always look forward to coming back again.

Kim and Uvaldo were very friendly and we appreciated engaging in conversation with them- it allowed us to build a rapport and feel welcome. The food was delicious- no complaints at all there other than it taking a long time to come out especially given that there were only 3 other tables. We come here from time to time mainly for the food and the familiarity with some of the staff, however, it's WAY too quiet and the silence can be uncomfortably deafening. We would return more often if the above was addressed.

It was delightful to sit by the large windows and look out at the Chicago skyline while enjoying a relaxing, quiet and delicious lunch. Service was friendly and the food served promptly and tasted delicious.

Great food, each plate was full of flavour. We had the duck to share, which was outstanding. Great service by the whole team, with nice little touches to our special occasion and great service and sommelier recommendations by Kevin.

Tried a bunch of things on the global menu, but the Aloo Chole was the highlight

Great dining experience!

The Malaysian food served here was delicious. From the coconut rice to the eggplant dish, and the curry chicken....it was all very well done and really delicious. Great spicing, complex flavors, and a very large menu. Service should remove empty dishes, and before the check is delivered. It's a pet peeve of mine and cost one star. Surprised this restaurant isn't packed.

Legendary Service, A special occasion calls for a special place. This is the most versatile level of luxury in Chicago

The restaurant located in their beautiful lobby has a perfect mix of excellent service and very good food. It has scaled down recently as have other hotels at this level in offerings and experiences which is a bit disappointing. But the core is still intact and we'll enjoy that for now.

Good but not great!

What a disappointment. Here is a five star hotel peddling meager meals from a glorified dining room. Well, it was quite confusing planning afternoon tea only to discover that there are multiple locations and the AT was only being served in London. That’s a big ass hop over the pond for tea. My plan for Valentines Day quickly went awry and we succumbed to the usual menu. As per the usual, menu always sounds good and the actuals are quite different. The Chinese breakfast was just all over the place. Four mini dishes of dim sum for what you would pay in Chinatown for dim sum for two. No imagination on how to translate the elements to something unique. The short rib hash also fell flat with the pot roast style chunks and get this; served on what looks like MCDONALDS HASH BROWNS (see photo for reference). I shart you not! Prep cooks don’t know to do an onion as there were skins in the dish. Just a rather unremarkable breakfast that is a reflection of the hotel itself. If you have to eat here, stick to the basics and avoid the interesting sounding offerings. Dining room felt upscale save for a few misses and the service was spotty as I had to flag down a waiter multiple times. Manager seemed somewhat sympathetic to our experience but gave excuses along with her apologies.

I was disappointed by my experience here. I came here with my daughter to grab a snack and have a drink. When requesting a table, the hostess asked if I wanted to see a menu and decide if I wanted to stay - insinuating that it might be too expensive for me. I don't dress in luxury clothes because it's not my thing. But I also don't go to restaurants I can't afford. I chose to stay but it left me with a bad impression.
My daughter ordered a mocktail, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had a martini and the shrimp cocktail. Both were descent. The violins playing in the loft were beautiful.
