This is not the same Golden Dagger it was 6 months ago. New ownership has completely destroyed its reputation as one of the great small clubs in Chicago and reduced it to ash. No more shows, no more community. Rest in peace, GD/TR

Great place

it breaks my heart to say it, but - do not support this place! the new owners have destroyed everything that myself and the former employees worked so hard to cultivate and promote. what was once a safe and welcoming home is now a hole of greed, negligence, misogyny, mismanagement, lack of respect for artists and patrons, and creeps.

The workers are so nice but the owners are sexist and rude. Dirty nothing is stocked and the music is bad

It's alright. I saw a performance with an audience of three. They're not promoting well.

A good music venue with tasty Mojitas.

I’ve always had a great time coming to shows here. Bartender’s are always nice and make good drinks. Unfortunately, I’ve had two experiences already where the person at the door has been unnecessarily snappy. But other than that it’s a great place for live music and drinks!

Awesome venue for live music and a great NA menu.

sick open DJ decks on some Saturdays! More bars and clubs need to do this because those are some of the best DJs I've heard. it seems to be a specific crowd and type of music sadly but still a great place to bring some beers and friends~

Surprisingly, many night spots in Chicago are closed on Mondays. So doing a little web search, I found out about this place having an open mic night. I decided to check it out. The gathering was a bit young for me -- most people were in their 20's. But the artists performing, who outnumbered the non-performing clientele, were quite good.No table service, but the service at the bar is good. No food, except for bags of chips. This place can be hard to find because of a nearby intersection which joins five different streets.

Rad little bar with up-and-coming music and an interesting and inclusive beverage list. Friend tried the NA 'new fashioned,' which was... a valuable experiment, at the least. The place feels like a clean dive bar with intentional and quirky touches. Worth stopping in, even if you're not checking out a show.

Moving the stage and upgrading the sound from how it was when it was The Tonic Room have helped make this a great room for live music

Formerly the Tonic Room. They did some modifications and put a real stage in. Great vibe and atmosphere and excellent Monday night open Jam

Drinks were good but they were out of some ingredients for the drink I wanted but I was fine ordering something else. Nice little joint.

Quite a drink menu, the Temple of Doom and the gimlet( sage syrup) is a must have. Great selection of non alcoholic beverages as well.
