We we're so impressed with Truth Be Told.
We had breakfast here two days in a row just to try more things on for menu. The homes Fries that come with the study breakfast a thick and crispy. The scotch pancakes are dense, cakey, and are fantastic with the carmilized apples and syrup. Do not sleep on the warm scones. They serve them with food flight of house made condiments.
The atmosphere is super chill with a cozy modern twist.
Parking is very limited, but it's chicago, parking is always limited.

As soon as my daughter and I walked in, we were greeted and seated quickly. The beautiful waitress Andrea was so kind, attentive to our wants and needs immediately.
Upon ordering I wasn’t sure of which wine I wanted but I didn’t want sweet nor dry and her recommendation was to perfection.
The choice she made for me made me want to buy a bottle. I ordered the salad and salmon and it was delicious, everything freshly prepared, cooked perfectly.
Upon leaving she showed us the other side in which was calming, intimate, and served a purpose of a casual or business meeting with lunch etc, dinner, or just a cocktail by an open fire. Thanks Andrea we look forward to stoping in again and most definitely a great place for my husband and I to eat, drink and enjoy the ambiance and each other

Food is great, service is genuinely unbelievable. Clueless waiter, disrespectful, and forced high percentage gratuity on a expensive meal with terrible service. Things didn’t come after 2 hours, steaks undercooked, and waiter yelled at one of us.

Limited menu but okay food. Really liked the vibe of the place and how cozy it felt inside. French toast was decently good and I liked the berry compote. Personally didn’t like the fresh market fruit due to it having an onion aftertaste and some of the fruit not being the freshest. Coffee was okay but I did have to add quite a bit of sugar to mine to get rid of the bitter taste.
We did have a wait at the door even though there was no line (there was no greeter at the door and were questioning if we had to go further into the place to find someone who worked there). The wait was a bit of a bummer and it seemed like they were somewhat short staffed and behind on getting orders.

They don’t answer in the morning their phones! I’m calling within business hours and trying to retrieve an important item that was left last night. They won’t answer!!! Ridiculous
Andrea the server deserves a raise!! She effortlessly operated the phone, acted as a host, maintained her section, and simultaneously took care of me at the bar.
Avocado toast was delicious!

Disappointing in both service and food quality. Service was nearly absent, with long waits, no staff visible on the floor, and difficulty finding someone to pay the check. The ricotta appetizer took over 30 minutes and came out with too little bread for three people. The burgers were excessively salty, nearly inedible and the risotto was overly thick and creamy. The Firelight Margarita was unbalanced and too spicy, while the wine pour seemed below standard size. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold, with guests wearing jackets and scarves inside until the AC was turned off after a complaint. The fries were good, and general setting was pleasant. When we were able to get an employee's attention, they were helpful. There is significant room for improvement in both kitchen execution and service attentiveness.
