My favorite is their better brownie batter waffle cone which has chocolate ice cream, hot fudge, chocolate chips, and brownie batter bites in them in a waffle cone. So addictive & not overpowering with chocolate as you think. People need to know this little ice cream spot more! And great prices.”

“DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE, DEKALB!!!! The beet salad was delicious and the pizza is SO good!! We ordered their special, funghi, and hot white which were all amazing. There isn’t a specific kid’s menu, but they can make kid friendly cheese pizza and buttered noodles that our kids devoured! A must stop!!”

“We rode our bikes uptown Sycamore and wanted a healthy bite for lunch. We were super happy when we stopped by The Village Restaurant and met the owner, Jean, a sincere and kind person! The chicken and pork skewers were delicious and cooked perfectly. Another "surprise and delight" for us was the homemade tzatziki sauce—oh my!!! Jean recommended her homemade Greek avgolemono soup... this lemon chicken cream soup gets an A+! Water infused with lemon and cucumber was a nice touch. I highly recommend The Village Restaurant. We will be back soon, as this 5-star establishment is extremely memorable!”

“very displeased with the way my situation was handled. I ordered a Denver omelette and something in it was spoiled made me violently ill. I sent the Omelette back in turn they I wanted something else, so I ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy. when we paid for our meal you would think that they would comp The Omelette meal for me being sick and it being spoiled they did not inreturn they charged everything a la carte the pancakes and the hash browns down to the onions. the only thing they took off was the omelette. and then still charged me for the biscuits and gravy also. very very poor service you sell somebody something spoiled. end up sick from the spoiled food and not only did I have to pay monetarily I also paid physically for it. two breakfast meals two coffees one soda one of which we cannot eat $45. we will not be back. however I will say the waitress we had was amazing and it was not her fault. she was the best part of our service there.”

No need to go into the city for some mediocre pizza when the best is just five minutes away! Each time I order I know the wait is going to be a bit long, but I appreciate it because I know that at Sam's they're taking the time needed to create a pizza that is TOP NOTCH every single time!

“I was looking for a place to eat on my first day at NIU, noticed this place on google maps. I wasn't sure what to get, so the chef recommended me a shawarma wrap, and let me tell you it was worth it. They also accept husky bucks, so if you are a student that wants to try something new, this is the place.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp leading directly off of the pavement next to their shop, and they have a grouping of shorter tables that would be easy to eat at with a wheelchair. There is also ample room to maneuver around in a wheelchair or any other related mobility device. The front door is manual however, so you might have difficulty with it.”
