“Our Pool League, Southern Illinois APA held an event st the Corner Pocket, in Du Quoin on Saturday. They were the perfect host and handled our nearly 60 guests flawlessly. We used their facility from 11am to 11pm covering both shifts of their staff. Our players had nothing but praise for everything. The food was on point all day long. The service was great from Muffy and Callie to Josh and Jason. Even the owners were on hand to assist if needed.I personally had one of the best Ribeye sandwiches you can find. Their pool tables are top notch and played perfectly. “I have ate at Back Water a few times now both breakfast and supper..they are both great but I'd have to say that the Breakfast on the weekends are my favorite. Jami has been my waitress each time. She is the sweetest and she makes sure she gets your order right. Shane has some cooking skills....dont tell him i said that though! The biscuits and gravy are delicious!! Its been a while since I've had HOMEMADE GRAVY from a restaurant! The pancakes are bigger than the plate they serve it on. Michelle is awesome and extremely consciencious about serving the best food! Seriously Guys this place is a hidden gem for a great price!“

“I had never been to this fun little place, as I live 1800 miles away. I am here visiting family. On 05/12/21 my brother (Doug) asked if I wanted to grab some dinner with him and his girlfriend (Laurie); I am sooo glad I said YES!!I ordered a cheeseburger and Laurie ordered a Popper Grilled Cheese. We cut our sandwiches in half so her and I could try both items...I know, we are such girls, can't decide on one thing, lol! The food was great! I can't even tell you which sandwich I liked best; they were both REALLY good!As much as I enjoyed the food; what I was most impressed with, was our server! She is new with this business. For some reason unknown to me, she happened to be the only employee working when we arrived. She was taking the orders, running the bar, AND cooking all of the orders! Personally, I would have been so stressed out! I know I would have never been able to handle it as AMAZINGLY WELL as she did!She had a wonderful personality, her smile never left her face, she was right on with everything, and when it slowed down a bit, she found a couple of minutes to visit with us...I loved that!I'm definitely going to be sure to visit this place again before heading back to Idaho!!I highly suggest everyone gives them a try!
