“Acclaimed renowned chef Fabio Viviani best known for his Italian and now California wineries (Fabio Viviani Wineries) and his 2008 appearance on the reality television competition series Top Chef where he was voted the "fan favorite" has lent his name and vision to a few new restaurants in the Southlands at the newly opened Wind Creek Chicago Southland Casino on 173rd & Halsted. \n\n“Shuck It” Oyster Bar is a reasonably priced Louisiana Cajun Style restaurant that offers “a curated selection of freshly shucked oysters served with flair, pan roast, live-action kettles, and classic gumbo, accompanied by libations.”\n\nFor starters I suggest a classic Caesar Salad —\nromaine hearts, anchovy, sourdough croutons, horseradish, and a delicious Caesar dressing. The Clam Chowder, New England or Manhattan though my preference is for, and this review is of, the classic New England chowder, was rich, with FRESH oysters clearly made from scratch in-house. The Gulf Oysters on the ½ Shell were similarly FRESH and delicious. Finally the “Prince Edward’s Mussels” are served in a variety of unique styles but again I prefer classic style dishes so I enjoyed the steamed in white wine, garlic and herbs.\n\nThe Gumbo is simply remarkable! Creole stew cooked with andouille sausage and okra. Served with steamed rice is common to the five styles: 1) Poarch Style - Shrimp, crab, lobster; 2) Shrimp; 3) Crab; 4) Lobster; and 5) Chicken varying in price from $30-$20. My version was clearly made to order—classic NOLA style gumbo with lobster as an add in—shrimp, crab, lobster, chicken and andouille sausage. \n\nFinally, you must “experience” the Seafood Étouffée -Cajun stew, shrimp, crab, and lobster served over soft moist white rice.”

“Cool little bar in the middle of a neighborhood. Older crowd, no fights or drama. This is a must see place. There is no way they would ever allow a bar in the middle of a neighborhood these days.”

“Such a creative take on the buffet experience! Instead of the usual self-serve style, this restaurant sets up multiple mini food stations, each designed like its own little eatery. You’ll find a BBQ/meat station, seafood, American classics (burgers, sandwiches, etc.), plus dedicated Sweet, Mexican and Italian stations.You simply order at each station, and the food is freshly prepared and brought to your table in no time or you can wait there for them to prepare it. The quality was excellent, everything tasted delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, a fun, affordable dining experience that’s definitely worth trying!”

“I ordered the avocado chicken curry with rice! It was absolutely delicious. Very flavourful. Just perfect. My friend got the avocado mac and cheese. I tasted it and loved that too. The portions are large and we brought some home. We got the avocado cheesecake cup for desert and wow! Yummy yummy yummy. They have a kids menu too! I will be a regular customer in the future. You have to try this place!”

“My husband and I were very impressed with the food. It's made fresh and is delicious. The fries tasted great and were not greasy. My husband had a huge delicious hamburger that he couldn't finish in one sitting. I had the steak shawarma which I enjoyed very much. We sat outside because the weather was perfect for it. The people working there were friendly and polite. We were definitely impressed.”

“Was recommended this restaurant from a friend. The maple tree and did not disappoint. Made a reservation online easy. Their menu is awesome, simple and delicious. Crab cake was perfect! Our dinner was fantastic. We had trout and shrimp. They have the best banana pudding over crème brûlée. The coffee for an end cap was out of this world good!”

“I’m a cook, kudos to All out smoke Pit. The best rib tips , turkey tips and the balance of the food. Haven’t had Barbecue like this since Alice on 43rd between Wabash and Michigan Ave. Moreover Alice , there’s a new Queen and King of Barbecue. It’s the best! I have recommended their food to everyone I know. So far no disappointments!”

“Finally made it out to Tea+Poke and I’m legit sad it took me that long to get there. The people are kind, the environment is welcoming, and the food is absolutely delicious. The pineapple passion fruit tea was the icing on the cake. I couldn’t decide what to get because TBH the entire menu looks delicious. Staff recommended the Korean Beef Short Rib bowl and an I added an orange chicken bowl as well. Both were winners. So much so, I’ll definitely be back to eat and drink my way through the menu. Highly recommend. 🥰”

“My husband Jack and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary tonight, and on a last minute whim he chose Bella Mia. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of phenomenal, and I had to write this review immediately. The moment we walked in, we were greeted not only by the host and hostess, but also by several staff members and even guests at the bar. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, welcoming, and incredibly friendly. Pure class. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and perfectly accented with soft candlelight, making the evening feel special and intimate. We sat at the bar and were welcomed by Gina, the bartender, who was extremely attentive and genuinely kind, making us feel right at home. The food was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The owner, Randy, came by to greet us and his personality was truly infectious. He had us laughing nonstop and made our night even more memorable. We also had the pleasure of sitting next to Marcy and Dick, regulars who have been coming since day one. Even though this was our very first visit, we felt like part of the Bella Mia family. From the staff to the clientele, the love and pride behind this place are undeniable. Bella Mia is truly one of a kind and deserves all the recognition it receives. “We absolutely love this place and the owners! They are so accommodating and helpful to make sure you get exactly what you want! We always get the chicken Tikka Masala, Chole Gravy (comes with fried Indian bread that's to die for), and the Aloo Paratha. So yummy! The Samosas are the best I've ever had but are a bit too spicy for my taste. We tend to order them anyway and power through the spice because they're so dang good! Lol. 10 out of 10!”

The falafel is perfectly crispy, the hummus silky smooth (you can ask for it extra spicy!), pita warm and fluffy, shawarma seasoned to perfection, and Fatoosh salad with house dressing is light and tasty to balance everything. Plan ahead and call in your order with at least an hour of lead time. Dining in? Call ahead and don't sleep on the delicious hot tea with pine nuts to sip while you wait.”
