“Mel's is the epitome of a small town diner. We come often for breakfast. Most of the menu items are under $10,but portions are large and cooked just the way you want. The wait staff treats you like family. Try a skillet breakfast- the half order is more than I can finish.“

It was a fresh green salad but rather than the usual dried cranberries everyone is using now, it had fresh strawberries, blueberries and blackberries in it along with croutons and red onion. She ignored us for the first 5 minutes we were standing in line and got mad when I asked what was on a sandwich telling me “it’s on the menus” :( not sure what her problem with me specifically was, She also did not ask me about my number for points or what side I wanted. Then got mad that I want a pick two so she had to put the order in again, when I stated from the beginning that I wanted a pick two. But I hope she has a better day.“

“I work downtown and go here at least once a week. I order the same thing when I go, 16oz Fr Vanilla Latte with half and half. Depending who was working the counter I would get charged differently each time. $5.66 one day or $6.77 the next. I asked one day and was told I was being charged for the half and half. Ok fine, BUT today I go there and order the same drink and they wanted to charge me $7.00 for a 16oz??? Starbucks and Dunkin charge $4.49 for the same drink and size. I go to CXT to support local. But today was probably my last day. The gentleman today fixed me up and I was charged $5.00. I think you Managers better circle back because no one will pay $7.00 for a 16oz iced latte.“

All bonuses maxed almost people still losing at least 1 should have paid out but didn't. Not Darcy's Fault but state wanting more money. “This cafe is in the middle a thrift store which was not only convenient since we were already shopping it has a neat atmospere. I had the ham and three cheese panini with fritters on the side and my aunt had the cranberry salad. The sandwich could only be better if the cheese was melted more.“

“I am so glad we didn’t listen to the negative reviews. I’ve wanted to try this place forever, but we nearly didn’t after we read all the recent griping. We loved everything — the atmosphere, the wine, the snack tray, and the shrimp pasta. The staff were warm and prompt, and our little guy played with the outdoor wooden blocks for so long that we almost felt that we were on a date. After dinner, we sat by the fire pit for awhile. The menu was interesting — not a boring tourist menu — and we want to return to try more. I agree with the reviewer who says coming here feels like a vacation. Thanks Cyd’s!

Kid-friendliness: The stylish and interactive block towers in the courtyard completely occupied our four-year-old while we relaxed. It looks like a grown-up place, but worked just fine for a kid. We skipped the kid menu and shared our snack tray with him, to his delight.“
