“Just ate lunch at this place. It is a food trailer parked next to a bar. A beautiful day to eat outside at their picnic tables. Food was excellent!! I would recommend to stop and try some of their bbq.😊👍”

“The Firefly is a gorgeous restaurant. We love the setting and its staff. The menu has not changed in the years (and it has been many) that we have been eating there. We keep hoping for a shake up with the food but it hasn't happened.”

“We visited the winery during the solar eclipse. Staff was friendly and patient despite the large crowd there for the solar eclipse party. The wine was excellent and staff was able to provide the perfect wines to suit our tastes.”

“We made a 2.5 hour trip to Pinky’s for the first time. The food was GREAT, priced fair, the waitress was fantastic and the domes were a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Pinky’s.”

“Our family and friends were here yesterday, Sunday, to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday and our 55th wedding anniversary. The food and service were great. We really appreciated the thoughtfulness the staff showed us with a long table so we could all sit together. And the tv's were situated just right so our grandkids could watch the funny videos while eating. Thank you very much! Ann Flanagan”

“Loved the breakfast sandwich made with a buttery croissant, egg, bacon or sausage was delicious gonna have to order it everytime I come in now. Drinks are made to order and are so good! I recommend the ice mocha. Fresh donuts just make sure you come in early they sell fast!

Kid-friendliness: They have chocolate milk and sprinkles on some of their donuts which is always a win for my toddler”

“5.1.24 @ 11am - I ordered a small banana and strawberry smoothie for $7.51. I've tried Smoothie King in other states and fell in love. This time was just decent. The flavors weren't present, and the shake tasted somewhat like water. You know the old icy fruit you'd probably find while cleaning out your freezer. Yes, it was that. The price was way too high as well considering the smoothie wasn't hitting. The shop was rather difficult to find, too. The large visible sign by Walmart was no where near the actual shop. See pics for better idea of location. However, I do not recommend this particular shop.”

“I don’t like to leave poor reviews but hoping this will help the restaurant do better. We ordered at 1:09 pm, at 1:30 I finally went up front to check on our food. I did this because I saw others eating that were in line behind me. My tray with my children’s meals was sitting there, holding on cheese curds. I was able to grab my food. My bun was as hard as a rock, food was Luke warm. They should have brought my food then brought out the curds later. Also, I received 12 cheese curds, this was very upsetting considering it’s a $2 up charge for curds. Never had issues in the past, hoping just a fluke because we love Culver’s!”

“By far the best Chinese food in town. I usually get delivery, which they get out to you fast, and the food has always been fantastic. Never had a problem with anything I've ordered in the 15+ years that I've been ordering from them.”

Parking: Enter right between Wright at Home Furniture and the stop light.

Wheelchair accessibility: Pavement is decent enough as of Nov. 2024 for wheel chairs to roll up to the window.”

“We just happened to be traveling by to Effingham from Bridgeport IL and decided to stop and eat. They had all you can eat fish buffet and it was very good. My husband loved their fried potatoes. Waitress was very pleasant and great service. Nice Bar and Grill.”

“We attended a thank you dinner at the Effingham Event Center as volunteers with over 100 others. It was catered by Niemerg's Restaurant which is always great. They honored most everyone with small gifts.My wife and I volunteer at Enduring Freedom Ministries in Shumway. As a Master Mason our group volunteers for the blood drive held at the Event Center. I've done it the last two times. Several Masons from our lodge volunteered to install the youth reading stations at Lake Sara. We will finish the project in the spring. There are 25 stations for kids to read books which can be changed. It is in cooperation with the Effingham Public Library. At the end they will walk one quarter mile.My wife made 135 Christmas stockings for FISH to give to nursing home, assisted living, or hospital patients. They filled each with personal hygiene items, activity books, candy,etc. We love doing stuff like this by giving back to the community.”

“We love eating here. The one in mattoon closed a while back, so my family and I enjoy coming here. We love the red white and blue pancakes, especially anything breakfast! Love that it is open whenever, hardly anywhere is open 24-7. Our server tonight was new and she was overwhelmed, she did great though and it made us happy seeing her coworkers pep talking her instead of belittling her. 🥰
there were some really rude people at a table near us griping about their food...if someone is new and learning give them some time to learn! she handled herself really well. I dont want to say her name on here but she did great!

“We are skeptical about eating buffets. We just don’t eat that much food anymore at one sit down, but I went in to check out the price and the decor was very nice. The waitress was cleaning glass, which told me that everything else was done and it was beautiful layout. The food was amazing small portions so that fresh was brought routinely out. Only $14 and that includes your drink and ice cream. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.”

“This restaurant is located INSIDE the IGA. It's behind the pharmacy and deli counter.
You go through the line, get your tray and drink then seat yourself. The food is excellent. The salad and dessert bar is expansive. SO MANY great choices and variety. The hot bar doesn't have a huge selection, but what was there was delicious. Lots of seating area, clean bathrooms and a cozy environment. Staff were all extremely friendly.
We had a party of 11 and everyone enjoyed it. We will definitely be eating here again when in town. The price was great too! P.S. Just ask for extra plates if needed. They will give them to you.”

“If you live in Effingham, I'm sure you know of Cruiser's. If you're passing through...well let me tell you; stop here! Cassie was very friendly and super efficient at the counter. The food came out fast and hot! It was so good. Nuggets were crispy, hot chili was so spicy good and my husband's C Burger was delectable! Restaurant was clean and the patio was perfect on a nice sunny day like today! If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely be stopping here!

“This Long John Silvers has the best servers. And I will definitely be back to eat here! They cook to order. Meaning they don't let their food sit underneath a heat lamp. It's always hot, crisp, and fresh out of the fryer when it's brought to your table. My only minor complaint are the pot holes out in the parking lot. God love them ..they need a new parking lot. So don't judge this restaurant by it's parking lot. If I were you I'd definitely give them a chance. It is pricey but well worth it!”

“Enjoyed a delicious steak dinner with my husband on our anniversary. Had about a 5-minute wait to be seated on a Friday night. Waitress was friendly. Offered delicious warm chips and salsa while we waited for our meal. Salsa was not too spicy and not too chunky. Very good. Food was prepared well and very tasty. They offer flavored butter to top the steaks. Delicious. Steak tender and juicy. Prepared medium rare. Only thing we didn't care for was the Cole slaw.”

“We ate there today about 3:30 and for some unknown reason 8 tables full of customers decided they were hungry at the same time, around 20 people. I found out they had recently sent most of the staff home. We had Val for our waitress. She was absolutely completely amazing! Continued smiling and checking on us often even though she was running her legs off.”

“Arianna was more than helpful with current promos and ingredients following certain recipes as order was being put in, Stephanie was going to go out of her way (above & beyond) to make a lunch meal during breakfast hours although we ended up changing our minds, it’s the thought that counts. Thank you Arianna Robert’s and Stephanie for filling our souls this morning to start off our day. As I sit here eating our breakfast I can feel the pleasant energy coming from the kitchen, great team great, work ethics, and goal oriented ! Keep up the good work! Side note: very clean atmosphere, not a single crumb found on the ground or tables! Bathrooms perfect! Everything stocked!
