The Little Island Reviews
Not the best dog or polish in Chicago, but definitely in the top ten. This from someone who has been shoving them into his face for over sixty-five years. I've been to 'em all on the north side - Lerner's, the Ranch,' the Pit, Sammy Skobel's, Wolfy's, Fluky's, Dear Franks', Michaels, Stashes, Mutt and Jeff's, Shmendels, and all of the Irvings. ALL of them. Little Island stands right up there. What they do have that is the best in Cook County are their fries. Best ever. ...read full review
I went today and ordered a char dog and the bun was hard and cold and the ice cream in the root beer float was partially frozen and only part of the ice cream was creamy. It was quite disappointing. Won’t be going back, too many other good options.
Good food, fast, decently priced!

The Little Island is a beloved local restaurant, known for its delicious char burgers with cheese and exceptional Chicago hot dogs. The fries are a highlight, described as "so good" and "can't be beat." Prices are praised for being criminally low, making it an unbeatable choice for fans of Chicago food. The owner provides straightforward service that allows customers to enjoy their meals without delay. This establishment has been a staple for many for several decades, bringing back memories of the classic hot dog stands that used to be prevalent in the city. The atmosphere features comfortable booths and high chairs, along with a fun pinball machine for entertainment while waiting for food. The menu also includes excellent burgers, decent Italian beef, and shakes that are hands down awesome. For whatever reason, like very low overhead, the prices are substantially lower than most other local hot dog stands, with combos and daily specials available. Overall, The Little Island is a hidden gem on the North Shore, offering flavorful meats and an extensive menu.
