“I have been coming to Grandma's Kitchen close to 20 years and yes there has been ups and downs through out the years but Dave and Stacey have turned this place around and the cooks are pretty dang good and the new waitress are friendly as ever I come in daily more than once the cook Cynthia even takes the time to get to know the people she feeds and Kelly is one heck of a woman good at placing them ordered and out pretty fast for them cooking it fresh and them pies from Shannon are so good you can tell they are not frozen pies I believe Grandma's kitchen as come back alive.“

“Okay... Let's see here...The Prompt says:"Share more about your experience..."Well, I'm going to give it my Best Shot... but I am Probably going to Crater THIS Review, just like Everything Else I ever did in Clay City, Illinois from the Time I arrived in Sixth Grade thru my Graduation from High School!!!(I Really was beyond Redemption... and I haven't Changed much in over 40 years!)Now, The Pit Stop is One of a Kind... and also The Last of it's Kind in Clay City as far as I know which ain't much, really...It's a Tiny Little Cafe... In a Tiny Little Town that has seen Time try to leave it in the Dust.Again and Again... and again...... it's also as Close to the Kitchen We had as Kids Growing Up in "Oxtown" both Literally and Figuratively. Now, Remember that Delicious Sensation of Sneaking into the Kitchen in the Middle of the Night when You were a Young Teenager?Your Hungry... for Something... ANYTHING!!!You tippy-toe through the House, trying not to Wake Up anybody...(WAIT, don't forget THAT Creaky Floor Board... watch out for the Cat's Tails... and God Forbid the Dogs Wake Up because THOSE DOGS can and will WAKE UP the ENTIRE COUNTY!!!)Remember how it Felt to Open the Door of the Fridge (and Here, We Still Called 'em Iceboxes) and Stealthily begin to Gather whatever You could to make a Forbidden Sandwich?......Remember being discovered by Your Little Sister and trying to keep Her QUIET by helping Her make a Sandwich, too?......Remember when Your BIG SISTER turned on the Lights, Woke Up the Dogs (and then when the Dogs knew, EVERYBODY WAS AWAKE)...... And Your BIG SISTER said..."MOM Said that YOU are SUPPOSED to STAY OUT of the REFRIGERATOR!!!"... And then...Mom enters... followed by the Cats... totally unfazed... Makes a Cup of hot "Instant Whatever"... Sits down in a Chair on a Floor that isn't quite level and asks..."You Kids Hungry, Too?"THAT'S The Vibe of the Pit Stop Cafe in Clay City, Illinois!... and If I'm Lying, I'm Dianne!(Kurt) Bruno Biava ⚓02 March 2023“
