“I tried a slice of their rainbow cake at Penelope's Vegan Taqueria a couple of years ago, and honestly, it was the best cake I’ve ever had. I’m not usually a big cake person myself, but this one completely changed my mind. It wasn’t overly sweet, and it was incredibly moist.
I planned to save the slice for when I got back home since I live four hours away. I ended up eating the whole thing before I even left Chicago. If that doesn’t say how amazing it is, I don’t know what does.“

“If you've been walking by but haven't gone in yet, do it!!! I ordered the strawberry tart and blueberry muffin and both were soo delicious. I'm a retired baker so I can be a tough critic, but I'm telling you the tart especially was very tasty and fresh and the shortbread base was sooo delicious! This is my new go-to bakery when I want to treat myself :) Also! The shop owner was very friendly. Great selection of bakery items, lots of seating, and many fun items in there for sale including cook books, greeting cards, and home goods.“

“DeliPan on Harlem and Schubert THIS IS THE BEST BREAD IVE EVER HAD! They got a new customer, my kids and my wife were so happy! And señora Martha was really nice and helpful. I had never tasted the Guatemalan bread and now it’s probably one of my favorite! 100/100 recommend. Also they’re taking a lot of extra precautions during all of this. “For a girl passionate about small pretty cakes, this was awesome to visit while in Chicago!!! Fun idea and great cupcakes!!!!“

“We got there right when they opened, first ones in. The place was nice and quiet, with that strong ice cream smell right away. The girl helping us was really friendly and welcoming.

I kept it simple and got chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone. The cone was dipped in chocolate, which honestly made it way better. That extra layer added a nice crunch and more sweetness with every bite.

The ice cream itself was smooth and rich, classic chocolate. I also added pecans, and that was a good call. The nuttiness paired really well with the chocolate, gave it a nice balance and a little crunch too.

Simple, but it hit the spot.“
