Only use Molly’s Cupcakes South Loop if you want your pre-paid order to be lost and to be treated rudely! Between work and personal events, I’ve placed probably a few dozen bakery orders from different bakeries all over the city. Molly’s Cupcakes is known for having the best cupcakes. The texture is superb, not dry and not too moist. A unique feature is the raw filling in many cupcakes, usually cake batter or cookie dough, which adds a tasty twist. Popular flavors include Cake Batter, Peach Cobbler, Cookie Monster, and the strawberry shortcake. The peach cobbler cupcake is sheer perfection. The iced birthday cake cupcakes with cake batter filling are delicious. The tres leches cupcake was very dry, but the turtle cheesecake was good, fabulous, and a different texture than regular cheesecake. The creme brulee and cookie/cookie dough are also yum. The shop is clean, and the staff is friendly. Customer service is stellar and incredibly polite. The selection is not as extensive as some places. For the freshest cupcakes, stop by earlier in the day. This place rocks.
