My husband ordered the veal ossobuco, and let’s just say—every dish at our table was to die for. From start to finish, the meal was unforgettable.

“We drove down from Milwaukee. I’ve been wanting to try Tortello since they’ve opened and I found out that they source their eggs from where I get mine (they are the best). Dario was kind, friendly, and extremely engaging. The food was fantastic. We started with Focaccia Ricotta & Honey which was ridiculously good. I had the spaghetti pomodoro which was perfectly balanced sauce to pasta to cheese. My husband had the Cacio e Pepe and devoured it. Our son had the Kids Lumache and ate half (he’s only two) and inhaled the rest tonight. It smelled even better the second time around if that’s possible. Best authentic Italian I’ve had in the States. Felt great after too, not like I’d eaten a pound of pasta. If you aren’t making plans to go sometime soon…you’re missing out!“

“We’ve been to Buona Terra several times and our experiences have been great. So it made sense to host a party there. We hosted my 60th birthday party at Buona Terra in late April 2024. What made Buona Terra so appealing to us was we could have the entire restaurant to ourselves and the food, of course!Planning the party was so easy with the help of the owner, Eileen. Eileen was helpful and accommodating and walked us through every step from the menu, bar options and different seating options. She emailed sample bar packages and sample lunch and dinner packages. She also said we could create our own menu which was exciting for us. We decided on Caesar Salad, Pasta di la Nona, Chicken Piccata and Tiramisu. When we arrived for the party Eileen had the room set up perfectly for our party of 35. And the weather was so nice she opened the front patio windows. Everyone had a great time! But the food! We have tried lots of Italian restaurants in Chicago recently. This was a standout. They offer a delicious homemade cornbread and feta spread upon arrival. We ordered the Gorgonzola fettuccine and the linguine putaneska and they were just to die for! The Gorgonzola was creamy and not overpowering. The putaneska was savory, salty in the right way, with lots of umami. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. And the carrot cake with cream cheese icing was delicious. The food was just wonderful.

Going along with the home kitchen feel, the server was casual and friendly. Lovely and personal attention is given. Please give this place a try. It is worth it.“

“Its been decades since I had a breaded steak sandwich. To give you perspective, last time I had a breaded steak sandwich was in early 1990s when there was a Ricobenes on Lake Street in The Loop, at street level, downstairs from a Nevada Bob’s. If you know about this, then you are Gen X!!

This place was recommended by a close friend and it was fantastic!!! It’s a solid 4.6⭐️s!!

From what I recall, this breaded steak sandwich is just about as tasty as I have had since Ricobenes. Tony’s is excellent and messy as I have expected. Its very filling and well worth the price.

Also tried their italian beef, which was very good indeed. Balanced spices and saltiness was all there!!! But I do have my favorites that I lean on when I really need a fixin!!! But this was very good nonetheless.

This neighborhood joint is small and has limited seating, but the friendly staff made the dine-in meal a pleasant experience, albeit a bit confined. Most patrons order take-away. Will try to make it out again next time I am in the Midway area.“

Walking in the atmosphere was definitely busy, but we were escorted to a table right away. The service was very quick considering the fullness within the dining area. The manager paisley took our food and drink order and was the absolute sweetest. She was so easy to converse with and was accommodating each and every request perfectly. “We needed to be in Chicago for Thanksgiving this year and wanted to find a nice restaurant open Thanksgiving Day in Logan's Square. So happy we found Saba. They offered a pre fixe traditional Thanksgiving meal but we opted to order from the standard menu. Everything was delicious including the gnocchi with pesto, the linguini basilico with prosiutto, chicken and eggplant parms and cocktails. The staff was very friendly and really made a holiday out of town very enjoyable.“
