“Hooray for local coffee shops and businesses. Astra is a wonderful coffee shop in the heart of the Ravinia District that always has a handful of neighbors out front during the warmer months. It’s also a great place to bring your laptop and to get some work done.“

“I come here because they do pour-overs. Really Good pour-overs. (If they're busy, multi-tasking staff may miss the correcting timing so the extractions are suboptimal and may alter the taste in the negative.) But still a great coffee - I'm nitpicking.

I enjoy this more than the other places in Libertyville because the barista's really know their products - every one I've talked with has been able to discuss each coffee with knowledge that helps me learn. And oh so friendly, nice people who work there.

Pastry choices are limited, so-so in taste, and too sugary for me (donuts, muffins) They could use some nice croissants, chocolate croissants, morning buns, etc. If they partnered with Hewn Bakery it would be perfect. (I will often get coffee to go, and bring my own Hewn to eat outside at the benches.)“

“I’m pretty new to espresso in general, and the Nespresso store at Old Orchard has been such an incredible experience from day one. I’ve been in the store three times now, and every visit I’m met with some of the most knowledgeable, kind, patient, and genuinely helpful people—especially Price and Eli.

They’ve taken the time to educate me, help troubleshoot my machine, and open my eyes to a whole new world of coffee. Because of them, I’m now officially a die-hard Nespresso fan.

In a time when so many retail experiences can feel rushed or impersonal—and when people are turning more and more to online ordering—this is the kind of store that actually makes you want to come in. They walk you through the options, explain everything clearly, let you sample different coffees, and truly provide a level of service that no website, AI, or computer ever could.

I’ve tried other espresso brands, and honestly, nothing beats Nespresso. The quality and flavors are incredible, and the experience at this store makes it even better. Huge thanks to Price and Eli for being so patient and passionate about what they do.

“Great ready prepared food buffet (and good variety), great Allegro coffee (IMO, much better than Starbucks), very friendly employees (Jen at the coffee counter, Erin at the bar, Adriana, Mell, Gail, and many others), and the store manager is so down-to-Earth simple and friendly guy that it is visible to the naked eye that customers and employees love him.
