First time here. Friendly place. Good musicians for the open mic night and was able to sing one. Kevin did a good job of organizing and rotating musicians. Planning to play drums and bass sometime also.

A group of us visited the 501 Blues Bar last night and had a blast! There were three guitarists, bass, drummer, and steel pedal at the back of the room, and they played country, rock, classics, blues, folkrock, and even told a few quick one-liners celebrating their longevity and love life -- or lack thereof. First time out, last night, since my leg infection (over 5 weeks ago). Stayed till 10:30 (a couple of hours). We went to the 501 Blues Club in Highland, IL. for their " Blues Jam" night. A band mate from the band I was part of in the 60's ( "The Bossmen") was the house bass player, Steve Tripp. Steve you still "got it"�!
