“Delicious! We saw the recommendation on Dine In/Dine Out Lake Bluff /Lake Forest Facebook page. So we decided to try it tonight. We were NOT disappointed. Service was friendly, nice casual dining spot. Great bar choices. The meal was delicious - we had the skirt steak and the flavor was top notch. My meal came with 4 shrimp and prepared well, not spicy. The flavors were yum and truly can’t wait to go back. From reviews the seafood looks delicious. We will try that next time!“

“We have never had a bad meal at Mean Weiner. We have ordered in and eaten in the restaurant. We have made many changes to our orders and have never had a problem. Everyone is always friendly and super polite. The value is outstanding. I highly recommend trying Mean Weiner. You will not be disappointed.“

“The owners have done a great job of creating a fun outdoor space that makes you forget that you are sitting opposite the Walgreens parking lot! I always enjoy the tacos and am so glad they have a skinny margarita on the menu! The service is mostly excellent. Whilst this place is nothing fancy it is perfect for casual yet delicious food. I wish they were open on Friday and Saturday but understand why they are not.“

“Great food. Friendly owner. A lot of food for the price. Did I mention the food?? Okay, so it is a break room on the 3rd floor of the office building, but so what? That makes it even better. I loved the atmosphere! Pro tip: bring your own mug if you like Strong coffee. I'm positively wired after one cup. 10/10 would recommend.“

“The food tastes good, though sometimes the sauce portions are a bit small, but if you ask, they’ll give you more. Prices are on the higher side. I usually stop by after grocery shopping at Whole Foods with my family when we feel a bit hungry. It’s a self-service kiosk, yet it prompts for tips. At first, I didn’t realize and added a few times, but honestly, if tipping is necessary, it should go directly to the chefs.“

“This is a hidden gem with great Mexican food. Their menu was huge and they offer amazing meals. I ordered their steak taco and chili relleno tacos are delicious. They served it while hot. The service is top notch. Will definitely recommend this spot.“

“A real authentic Mexican restaurant in Highland Park or in a lot of the North Shore is hard to find so I’m glad I found this one! Food is great, Service has been really friendly and attentive. These last few times I’ve gone. Enjoy sitting on the outdoor patio. Definitely coming back!!“

“We came from Minneapolis to Chicago and it was one of the first places we went to eat, because it was close. But everyone was super friendly and the service was good.
The rice and beans are more or less, but the rest is delicious. Especially the huaraches. So like the name, I recommend the huaraches!!“

“Maybe I ordered wrong but the combo plate came delivered sizzling hot which normally means part of the order was microwaved. Waiter was ok but slow at coming around and shortchanged me on the change from my cash by rounding down on the coins (was owed sub a dollar along with the bills and only got the bills back, pet peeve of mine that a waiter should give all the change unless told not to)“

“Food is still good. But of course the prices have gone up. And I dont like that restaurants have the nerve to ask for a tip, of various amounts. And a tip jar. That should be the customer's choice, and restaurants should take inconsistencies that you're buying food. Maybe that's all you can afford.“

“We used to live in Libertyville and came here all the time. Moved into the city in 2019 but still made the trip, albeit not as often. We always loved their tacos; the ingredients were fresh and flavorful and the quality was superb.We stopped by this week and it was definitely not the same. The steak was ok but it tasted exactly like the kind you can get at any other taco place. I can’t explain it except to say the magic was missing. Gone was that unique appeal that had us craving their tacos time and time again. Maybe it was just an off day, but if their recipe has changed for good, it’s doubtful we’ll be back. And that makes me very, very sad.“
