“This might be thee BESt Soul food I've ever had at a restaurant, most definitely the best in Chicago. The staff is so pleasant, the service is wonderful, and the food is just everything!!! We come here every year thay we're in Chicago and literally EVERYTIME the food is in point. Mac n cheese yams the greens the smothered pork chops and catfish all amazing. And thats only what I had. Came with about 7 others who ordered everything from the chicken to the braised ribs and everyone raved about the deliciousness lol. So good. We will be back next year ?“

“I don't know how they ended up there but there's always a bunch of soul vegan options at my local bodega. All of them are good, but I'd sell my left foot for a lifetime supply of the Chik'n salad wrap. All offerings are good, but that wrap is amazing.“

“My Fraternity Brother Anthony Williams and partner Byron Diggs when not bringing great joy as a part of the Our Lady of Our Lady of Africa Parish, Chicago Eucharistic Ensemble have a great Cafe in Maywood right off of I 290. It is called Meal of the Day and has some great southern cuisine in an establishment on the 4th floor of a business complex overlooking I 290. It is appointed with some great art from notable black artists . There is also a banner from Hales Franciscan Class of 1979 , not sure what that’ s all about .. lol! They also do on site catering and have fed the masses after masses at their home church . Check them out ! My fraternity brother has been telling me for years to make the drive and wifey and I finally did and it was so worth it ! .“
