““The Gallery made my wife’s surprise 75th birthday celebration absolutely unforgettable. Cecilia handled every detail with warmth and professionalism—helping me find a photographer, musician, flowers, and balloons that made the evening shine. Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres followed by a beautifully paced five-course dinner, complete with honey-inspired cocktails (using our own honey!) and a honey mustard salad dressing the chef created just for us. The food, wine pairings, and service were all outstanding—friendly, polished, and perfectly timed. The room’s unpretentious elegance and local artwork created the ideal setting for a night full of laughter, connection, and joy. Mission accomplished!””

“The atmosphere at the English Room in Lake Forest is very nice calm, classic, and a beautiful setting. The drink presentation was gorgeous. But the food itself was just okay, nothing special. I went to see what the hype was about, but overall I wasn’t very impressed.”

“I love reviewing and eating Japanese food, and being from Japan, I find it very difficult to come across truly authentic Japanese cuisine. Most American Japanese restaurants barely scratch the surface of what Japanese food really is.

This place not only captured the atmosphere of a real Japanese restaurant, but the food itself was genuinely close to what you’d find in Japan. I had the pleasure of ordering the Zaru Soba Tempura, and I honestly haven’t had authentic tempura in a long time. I’m happy to say it exceeded my expectations, the food was outstanding.

What made the experience even better was that the waiter spoke to us in Japanese, which really showed the restaurant’s respect for the culture and added to the authenticity.

“Food was decent . Not great but not bad. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful.
But the food was just good. Didn't like the fries but the short rib sandwich was tender. The burrata was good but not enough bread to eat it with. Did not like the sticky toffee.
I'd go back though.”

“What a great little place this is, their Acai bowls are literally the best I’ve ever had anywhere, my absolute favorite, the aspen, with a cocoa base, raspberries, kiwi, bananas, blueberries, granola and lots of Nutella on top, it’s a must for me one a week, don’t forget about the protein balls, power juices and cupcakes, they’re all very good 🥳🥳🥳”

“Very good fresh Mexican food. The usual menu choices were offered along with a few specials. My drink was strong, friends margaritas were pricey for the size but ok. Their chips and salsa were nothing special. We enjoyed the fried calamari but the sauce was a bit odd and we would’ve enjoyed a cocktail sauce more. The empanadas were tasty but I wasn’t sure there was actually any beef inside. \n\nMy chicken fajitas were very good but could’ve used a bit more flavor. The chicken, peppers and onions were grilled just right. The beef tacos were a hit as well as the taco special. Beef fajitas were so so. \n\nService was excellent but the room was very loud and made it hard to converse. Eating outside might be nicer! I’d return.”

“We have dined here many times. Food is innovative and seasonal. Quality and presentation of food is excellent. The happy hour menu is fantastic deal! We will return. Service tends to be over stretched, usually. While they are always friendly and responsive, they often have too many tables(like one bartender and one server only).”

“This Starbucks location went above and beyond for me the other day. I had been to a different Starbucks location, ordered a non coffee drink, took one sip and knew it had coffee in it, but they denied it so I left and started my drive. Took a few more sips and couldn't take it because I really do not like coffee and really wanted something nice to sip on while I drove so I decided to try again at this Lake Forest location. I explained what happened just to make sure I hadn't accidentally ordered a coffee drink ... they went above and beyond to make sure I had a perfect drink and were super friendly and generous about it. It had been an exhausting week for me and the delicious drink along with the excellent, positive experience at this Waukegan Road Lake Forest Starbucks really made my day!!!”

“Love having a Starbucks in Lake Forest. So convenient. Also love some of the workers there. Daniel and Jay to name a couple. I just wish they would get the free refill program correct for gold card members. I get the snarky face from the manager and a couple others when asking for my free refill. They keep telling me I need to buy a regular coffee to get a refill when in fact Starbucks web site says get a free refill regardless of the original beverage.”

“My wife and cousin bought drinks from this place. The young gentleman that made our drinks was very friendly and polite. After receiving our order we had to leave in a hurry as we were heading to a meeting. My wife accidentally left her purse containing her cards, cash, IDs and most importantly her medications on one of the seats inside. Unfortunately she didn’t notice that her purse was missing until later that night and the store was closed by then. Needless to say she didn’t get a good nights sleep as she was worried that she wouldn’t see her purse again. The next day she came back not really expecting anything but got a pleasant surprise when the young guy(not the same as the one who served us) that opened the store handed her back her purse with everything still intact. With the terrible things we hear and see in the news and oftentimes we experience ourselves, it’s amazing to know that there are still decent and honest people out there and especially in this store. Kudos to these young lads and to the people who raised them.”
