“If you're looking for a good hot dog and burger joint, and you're driving past LaSalle, IL on I-80, I would strongly recommend The Dog House. It's basically a carry-out hot dog stand situated right in the middle of Main Street that offers a handful of benches to sit at. Small and family-owned, the service was prompt and friendly. There are thousands of places like this throughout the U.S., so IMO if you want to stand out, you gotta step-up you're game and offer something unique or different. The Dog House has chosen to serve up probably 40 or so different varieties of hot dogs based on cities across the country. Not sure how anyone would substantiate their claim that a hot dog from Fresno would be topped with bacon, tomatoes and cream cheese, but that's not really the point, is it?!? The folks that own this place have either spent a ton of time researching what hot toppings go on their tasty dogs, or they just made some shit up. Either way, it's a super fun way to keep folks coming back and it also guarantees that you won't soon forget your trip to the Dog House. Smart. BTW, for whatever reason, I opted for the Portland Dog - which featured a perfectly cooked hot dog topped with mayo, pickle relish and celery salt. It was fantastic. We also tried a Chicago Style dog, since that's our hometown favorite, and the Dog House nailed it! From the sport peppers, to the celery salt, to the pickle spear... someone did their homework. Well done. We also ordered a double cheeseburger and some cheese fries. Again both were fantastic. Crinkle cut fries cooked perfectly with the processed cheese sauce that one just expects at a spot like this one. The double cheeseburger was a nice surprise. Made to order, the burger pattys were a good size and they were cooked to perfection on the griddle. If I lived any closer to LaSalle, IL this would be a regular stop for me... if only to try all the different types of hot dogs!“
“Hands down the best cheeseburger on earth. And we consider ourselves experts. :) If you are like us, you are always on the lookout for a local hidden gem. The Dew Drop fits the bill: a friendly owner and talented chef/artist, good drinks, and perfect burgers. If you are heading down I80 or I39 looking for a burger, take our advice: Skip the fast food spots. Get off the highway and take a five-minute drive to this gem. And don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior. Walk in. And enjoy.“
“First time here, we had a delicious lunch! The chicken taco soup was really good. Also tried the grilled ham and Nick which was good, although I love me a good old fashioned hot ham and cheese, the addition of grilled onions and flavored mayo wasn't my favorite. We will definitely goback and try other entrees.“
“What a pleasant surprise! From the outside it has the look of a dive bar. Inside it is recently decorated and extremely clean! Owners are super friendly and attentive. The food is standard bar fare but really good. I opted for the tenderloin sandwich and my better half opted for the build-your-own burger. We will definitely come back!“
“Ended up accidentally while passing through and couldn't be happier. Quiet not too busy place with great service, but the food was beyond good. Swear they gotta have chickens just chilling in the back cause the food was fresh and tender and good I thought Gordon Ramsay snuck into the kitchen to make it himself. Vibes good too they got a touch tube.“
“The burger, tenderloin, fries are all amazing!!!! Gonna have to come back to try more off the menu! Stopped in here after a day of hiking at Starved Rock and it was absolutely amazing! I got a burger and fries, my gf got a tenderloin. We cut both sandwiches in half and did what we call “splitskeys” so we could both try the burger and tenderloin. Fantastic. Both are massive, the burger was a single 3/4#! Great service, sat ourselves right away after walking in and waitress was there within a minute. Very reasonable prices, gonna try the jumbo wings next! Family friendly atmosphere, plenty of space inside and the tables aren’t jammed in too closely. I highly recommend Skoogs, you should try it, you won’t regret it!“
“Pretty typical Midwest diner. Lots of fried food on the menu. Homemade pies and super thick shakes and malts. Small counter seating area. This one also had a gaming room. Two sandwiches and cheese fries, a vanilla coke and a chocolate malt. $33.“
“Delicious well prepared food. Customer service I rate it a 10 outta 10. I feel when it comes to purchasing groceries I'm picking as you should be. I feel everyone deserves fresh produce and groceries. I feel Aldi's provides just that.“
“This place is a GEM!! We were in town and decided to stop in for a drink, yep we ended staying the whole day… The bartender is awesome and made us feel like we were just at home. We walked around and looked at all the great sport pictures and signatures, also got to swing several game used bats the had hanging on the all. This place is our new hangout every time we are in townThe food was great and I did finally ordered the lobster tail Alfredo that I heard about all day, well worth the wait and hope it is available next time we are in town.Thank for the great time and can’t wait to see y’all again.“
“We met our grown children and grandchildren here for a birthday breakfast for my husband. Our waitress was amazing and helpful with seating and serving 10 of us with 4 kids. We will definitely do this again.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pancakes were really good!“
“We stopped for a bite to eat on a long road trip, the cashier was very friendly and the manager on shift this evening was exceptional! Our food was ready right away for a family of 5, we don’t usually eat at McDonald’s due to the poor service and quality, we will definitely be stopping in again!Thank you for the fast friendly service! The restrooms were also clean and a refreshing place to wash up for our meal.“
“The food was great, and our waitress was phenomenal. A relaxing atmosphere. We never waited for anything. From our appetizers to salads and main courses, our food arrived in perfectly spaced times. And our drinks were always full. Love the place.“
