Kirby's Korner Bakery Bakery • $$
165 S State St, Manhattan

“If you're looking for a home style bakery this is a find for you! Not a showy set-up, order from the counter and see the experienced bakers hard at work as there is no wall between front and back of house. From coffee cakes to cookies to cannolis' they had a good selection. Breakfast sandwiches are also offered with beverages too. Only tried the ? cookies and ? donuts but they certainly offered old-fashioned flavor. TASTY GOODNESS!!!!!“

“I tried this place for the first time yesterday. I feel like I made a mistake by not going earlier, because I think some of the better flavors probably sell out quicker. The girl working the counter was super friendly, and made great suggestions. My favorite donut that I tried was probably the cherry flavored one. The last time I had something similar was from Thornton's gas station and I really liked it. I was happy to find it again. The caramel apple was also delicious, it reminded me of an apple pie filing inside. It was not overly sweet either. The honey dip was pretty good. It's very similar to a plain, old-fashioned, just slightly different. I have not tried the sprinkled one yet, but I'm sure it's also good. The donut shop is nice, I believe they are open 24 hours and they are very reasonable. Four donuts only cost me $6.15. Great prices!!“

“The Microbiome in my body doesn't often crave this type of food during the day, but man, I wanted a vanilla donut and this place does not disappoint. I think there's a negative connotation with the word decadent, but I mean it is a compliment here. Will make the time to go here more often in the future.“

“Full Disclosure: I'm not a regular consumer of sweets or pastries; I'm more of a salty snack guy. However, my sister brought over Crumbl Cookies and I tried their Chocolate Chip.. The first bite felt like a group hug from Grandma, Mr. Rogers and Mary Poppins accompanied by the song of angels. I was immediately overcome with a sensation of goodness, warmth and love. Those who don't believe that a chocolate chip cookie can change your life have never tried Crumbl cookies - they are that good. Right now, I feel like I should go donate blood or volunteer at an animal shelter or something.“

“Very nice place I never noticed before. They have small bands playing her in an intimate setting. Beer is ice cold and the setting has a cool vibe to it. Very retro, barkeep is not friendly but if he was I think it would ruin the image. Go here for a cold brew and hot local music“

“Hours of operation are fantastic! No matter what your day looks like, you can still stop by and get your baked goods. The ladies in the morning are energetic and friendly. Their service is fast. They sell Avena, chamourrado, and coffee by the cup. Untill supplies of the day last. The Avena is okay. The champurrado is delicious. The coffee is good. The bread is baked daily. I wish they had more options with filling.Their cakes are okay. They also sell tamales, and the best part is the guajolotas. They charge extra to put the tamal in the bolillo, so be prepared to pay or do it yourself (not difficult at all) if you want to save $.They sell torta while suplies last too. The tortas are nice and warm for breakfast. They have a shelf with chicharrones and spices. I love their chiles asados. A bag lasts me two months. You can use them to cook or eat them a mordida with your favorite dish. The parking lot is odd and tricky to park for a large car.“
