“We had Kay n Jo’s make our son’s first birthday cake! His party theme was “Cal’s first year down”, and they nailed the design! They were extremely accommodating and the cake was some of the best cake I’ve ever had! This shop is a pearl of Marengo!”

“Another great day, ride, and burger. Voted by 100% in our group as the best or second-best burger so far this year! The 3/4 lb fresh patty makes all the difference between a good burger and a great burger. A quarter pound burger, even when triple stacked, is never as good as this 3/4 lb burger. The bun today was signature branded and was perfect and didn't compete with or detract from the burger but became one with the burger. The properly stacked burger toppings held their individual flavors with each juicy bite!!! A must visit place in Marengo, IL.”

“Catering from Flatlander Market was excellent! We used them for our daughter’s wedding of 150 guests at a private venue. Rocco and Sally went out of their way to meet our needs, providing gf df and vegan options. They are professional yet kind and personable. The food tasted wonderful and the service they provided was exceptional. I would highly recommend them!”

“Came across this place on a road trip and liked it so much we decided to make a second stop for breakfast. The food is delicious and generously portioned. The first day I had the Greek scramble, the second we tried the french toast with fruit (pictured), and both were fantastic. The service is quick and friendly; this place obviously has a lot of regulars, and for good reason. Will absolutely return on our next visit to the area.”

“I’ve had a lot of pizza. This is very very good pizza! Just delicious, fresh tasting, good sauce, generous toppings! Staff is really friendly, vibes are casual but fun. There’s not full table service for dine in but they definitely make sure you have everything you need and provide real plates and silverware etc. I live 40 mins away and time to time meet some friends who live in the suburbs here bc it’s about halfway. The pizza is definitely worth the drive!”

“The bartenders are the best!!! Love Renee!!! Everyone is welcoming and friendly even the patrons are friendly. They have karaoke and live music on some days. They have pizza and hot pretzels if you need a bite. Cheap drinks, good music and tvs to watch the games. Super Fun place to watch the Bears games 🏈 We love this place it is the place to be!!!”

“Pointer’s Saloon allowed me to host a Celebration of Life type event. They accommodated between 20-30 people on a Saturday night in their dining area which later lead us to the bar area. The owner personally came and greeted me and gave his condolences. The staff was absolutely amazing, attentive, friendly and fast! They had food made ON TIME & kept up with our add ons. It made for a wonderful night on a sad occasion. I highly recommend them whether for a late night beverage or a gathering such as ours. Also, the communication between the owner directly was impressive as well as the friendly ladies that originally took me call to get me in touch with the owner as well as the servers that called prior to our arrival to make sure they had everything arranged for my liking! I can’t say enough about this whole encounter preparing for & enjoying our evening, it was great!”

“My first visit and I celebrated my birthday in one of the Igloos. There was a small mishap with the reservation but the staff and Niko himself assured us that they would resolve the issue and they did rather quickly. Niko bought us a round of drinks while the staff worked to find what happened. Once we were seated the Igloo was absolutely adorable. It was warm in there with the little fireplace heaters they had. The decorations couldnt have been cuter. It had a blue tooth speaker in there to connect our music. Food was delicious, fairly priced and came to us hot even after the walk in the cold, from the kitchen, to our table outside. We had a great time and I hope to be so lucky and be able to reserve one again next winter. Totally recommend the experience!”

“Sams is by far my favorite bar in the area. Always great service. Fridays and Saturdays can be really fun. Drink prices are great. What I drink is half the price the other bars located on the same street. Went to sams for my birthday in september for first time and it was such a great experience. It was not a fluke. I try to make it there every couple weeks. Sams is the only bar I go to now. Thank you for being such a great bar. 😁”

“The food is always fresh. And won't let you eat fries that have even sat for a 5 min. We where fixing there AC and ordered some food and when we we packing up. And it took a little longer than expected and when we came down from the roof Steve's like those fries are no good I'm like there fine. Nope he made me some fresh ones and wouldn't let me say no. Lol great family owned business. By a great family.”
