“Don’t sleep on this coffee shop. ☕️ I stopped at The Daily Grind on Route 6 this morning, and I’m officially saying it: this place is a gem in a cornfield. Normally, I grab a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich from a national chain on the way to work. Same routine. Same “fine but forgettable” food. Today, I downloaded The Daily Grind app, shifted my route just a bit, and went for a pour-over of their Ethiopian beans (roasted in DePue) — and noticed they had a breakfast sandwich. Friends… I swear this sandwich is on homemade bread, with the meltiest cheese, a perfectly seasoned egg, and ham that actually tastes like ham. Not microwaved. Not “warmed from frozen.” Just done right. Here’s the kicker: coffee + sandwich + tip = about what I usually pay for a sub-par Americano and a chain breakfast sandwich. The Daily Grind is tucked into the strip mall off Route 6 and Dalzell Blacktop, almost directly across from St. Bede. Easy to miss if you’re not looking — but you should be looking. And let this sink in: Spring Valley now technically has FOUR coffee shops. Add this one to the DO NOT MISS list. Same owners as Spring Valley Bakery, and it shows. They do coffee and mornings right. Highly recommend. Go get yourself a cup.”

“I got chicken dinners to go. Was recommended by a family member. I had never been there before. The flavor of the chicken was good. I ordered one with a baked potato and one with an order of American fries. I was disappointed in both potato choices. One was very greasy and one was overcooked. The salads were good. So I got plenty to eat. The price was good. Not too expensive, about average with the area.”

“Cassfords Crossing has some of the BEST Food in the State. Had tonight’s special, Country fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and candied carrots. Food was Outstanding! I have eaten there many times, all food is Outstanding in taste and presentation. Anyone who has not eaten here is Missing the Boat. Or it this Case Train! Above and beyond Clean and tastefully Train decorated! 5 Star Resteraunt all the way. Make the visit ASSP for a great dinner and Experience!”
