“Randomly found this place on the way back to Destin, Florida when my kids were hungry for some breakfast. Looks like it's primary function is a bar, but really cool feel and Dave the owner was fantastic. My kids are both extremely picky eaters and told me it was the best grilled cheese and cheeseburger they ever had. Yes, that's what I let them have for breakfast 🙂 anyway, Dave gave them some candy on the way out and gave us all a pen from the restaurant with its name. Just a great down-to-earth little Cafe in the farm fields of Illinois. Heads up, cash only. They did have an ATM there for me though. Loved it!”

“I got chicken dinners to go. Was recommended by a family member. I had never been there before. The flavor of the chicken was good. I ordered one with a baked potato and one with an order of American fries. I was disappointed in both potato choices. One was very greasy and one was overcooked. The salads were good. So I got plenty to eat. The price was good. Not too expensive, about average with the area.”

“Tried their weekend buffet for the first time, and the food was delicious. The variety of offerings was extensive and impressive, and included many authentic dishes you don’t ordinarily find, like albondigas, pozole and menudo. The fruit was fresh and high quality, the tres leches cake was outstanding, and the rice pudding in the brunch offerings was the best I’ve ever eaten, as were the chicken fajitas. Everything was well and deeply seasoned, but balanced, and the entire meal was a refreshing change from the same old same old corporate chain tastes. THIS tasted like it all came from Abuela’s kitchen. We will definitely return!”

The menu had so many options. Typical diner fare. I tried the biscuits and gravy and fried potatoes. The food was good and filling. Our server was pretty attentive and kept our drinks filled. Pricing was spot on.”

“Best place we stayed between Chicago and Grafton, IL! We were stuck at Starved Rock lock for around 5 hours. We didn't get through until after dark (9:30-ish). I called and amazingly enough a guy named Chuck answered the phone! He said our boat was a little big for anything they had available but he could put us at their fuel dock for the night. He waited until we got there around 11pm, helped us get tied up then invited us to the bar for drinks and even opened the kitchen and made us supper! Seriously the best place we stayed. Fun, clean, not pretentious, extremely accommodating, and super reasonable prices! Thank you South Shore Boat Club - and Chuck - for your help and amazing hospitality!!”

“Super clean — area where they make the sandwiches was covered completely. As the sandwiches were made they would lift the cover and then closed it. Colors were nicely designed — even the chip rack was pristine. Very friendly, and food was fresh and great. Sorry I don’t get photos for the review. All ways should be like this one!!”

The staff killed it, working together as a team they got through the line efficiently and accurately. The manager was awesome, she applauded the staff for their hard work!
