La Casita Tamales Reviews
I’m actually shocked this place even has any bad reviews. I always have a pleasant experience when I walk into their establishment. I was also born and raised in the city of Chicago and this place is the closest I've found to the authentic tamales sold by the local tamaleras on the streets of Chicago. I also make them myself but it’s a lot of work, so when I am craving some, I come here. 100/10.
Side note, they sell out fast so you usually have to get there...read full review

La Casita Tamales is a small hidden gem serving delicious tamales that remind customers of home. The friendly and hardworking staff, including the lady and her children, provide good service. Their tamales, including the popular tamales rojos and sweet tamales, are a must-try for anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine. Many customers say the flavors bring them back to childhood memories of eating homemade tamales from neighbors. The tamales are fresh, moist, and flavorful, with the red tamales having a good amount of chicken and tasty red sauce. The green ones are spicy, and the red ones are milder. Customers can buy tamales in sets, with options like pepperoni and cheese, chicken, and pork. The place is quick for takeout, making it a convenient spot outside Pilsen, Chicago. The owner is often seen at the entrance; some mention her attitude, but others see the place as a neighborhood gem worth visiting for authentic tamales. The open kitchen looks clean and organized, and the staff is polite and professional. While the tamales are delicious, some customers note that the meat portions are getting smaller, but the masa remains tasty.
