Always excellent, mom and pop so food prep and quality are very consistent, very nice people not pricey. Huge menu. They used to have great deals before the pandemic. Free eggrolls for orders over 20 bucks but I don't know if they're still doing that. Even though its just a pick up area with a few tables I gave atmosphere 5 stars because its exactly what its supposed to be.

Maybe they just had a bad day or a bad chef the night I ordered my food. I ordered 3 Thai curries, 2 pineapple, 1 green. Pot stickers, and tom yum soup. I don't think I've ever had Chinese/thai food that bland with no flavor before in my life. The curries all tasted closely the same. Nothing like their suppose too. The pot stickers had really thick dough and no flavor, just horrible. Tom yum soup had no lemon grass or flavor period. I'd like to give this place another chance but after spending 70 bucks and threw most of it away, I'm afraid to waste more money. I'm actually in shock on how bad my food was.

Got lunch for takeout from this strip mall Chinese place in Mundelein. It doesn't look like much, but it still beat expectations though. New China Chef has all the usual stuff, from beef to tofu and whatever. Big portions help make things a good value for what you get. The prices aren't bad especially on lunch specials. Came in and placed an order to go. It's a pretty cramped place, but there's enough room for a few tables for those eating inside. The atmosphere is pretty lame. About the worst thing that can be said about it. There's two humongous menus on the walls. It's about $12 for the regular size entrees. They also have lunch specials. Has vegetarian choices. I got the Kung Pao Tofu. Good spice to it. The tofu was firm, and there was a good variety of vegetables including broccoli, corn, and more. For lunch it's pretty good. It's pretty fast to get most orders. There's a variety of proteins including tofu for vegetarians.

I discovered this gem of a place about 5 days ago, and I have had it every day since. Absolutely delicious. The crispiest egg rolls. Most flavorful rice and perfect sauces on their perfectly fried chicken bits. I longed to find a good Chinese place and have settled for Panda. This by far takes the cake, icing and sweet filling in between . Haha! Try for yourselves you'll be glad you did.

Very nice staff. Large portion. I ordered a general chicken dinner special and had plenty !. Nice amount of meat as well in their chicken fried rice. Delicious. My picky 2 yr old even ate a large portion herself. Will be making this gem my regular !. Unbeatable prices ! Thank you!

I got 2 mongolian beef today . Fk there was lot of bugs in my food . First one was sighted on my spoon and then I stopped eating and started searching other ones . I found 4 green bugs , 3 black bugs from just one of two beefs . Beyond gross ? -100/10

Ordered sweet-sour shrimp with pork fried rice for lunch. A ton of good food for $8.75! It will be lunch for 2plus days. Definitely a new customer. Yay, right down the street from my work.

Thank you New China Chef For being available on New Year's Eve! We ordered many dishes and all were yummy! We truly had a feast for two :-) This was our first time and were a bit hesitant because I always like to eat at restaurants that are 4 stars and above. The food was really good and I would come back. I am writing this review so they can continue to climb up the star rating because it's deserved.

The best Chinese food in town. The owners are always very friendly and the food is top notch, and affordable. And there’s lots of it.

Kitchen does not look clean. (Not to sound hyper-critical), but if I see the kitchen where my food is prepared, it should appear moderately clean.Ordered Kung pao chicken. (See photo). Chicken with a red (almost ketchup-like) sauce. Very Odd smell. Noodles? Never had Chinese Kung pao with pud Thai noodles.Honestly, I did not eat it. So I cannot give an honest review as to actual flavor. I threw it away. It simply did not look or smell at all palatable. I feel immoral “wasting” meat, and I do not want to seem harsh in evaluating this restaurant. But I cannot recall ever throwing away a Chinese dinner because the aroma turned me off so strongly.
