“We finally made it in after having this saved in my special places to try… and it was like the stars aligned! Stopped by for an early lunch. Incredibly sweet and friendly service. The hot tea was served in a beautiful tea pot with tiny glass cups. We had lentil and spinach soups, lots of flavor. Kebobs, falafel, shawarma all absolutely mouth watering. As a special treat two bites of baklava ❤️ Wonderful food and people.“

“OMG! I have missed good take out since going vegan, and this place blew my mind! They had all the classic Chinese rake out dishes. Everything I got tasted exactly like what I remember prior to being vegan. I got sweet and sour chicken, vegan salt & pepper shrimp, wonton soup, and bean paste dessert rice balls. Everything was heavenly and wish I had stuff like this where I lived. I will definitely be back when I'm in the Chicago area again! Heck, I'd travel just for this food! I love that it's located in Chinatown too, which is a very cool area! The menu labeled what wasn't vegan/had egg & dairy.“

I tried the king of sea tsukemen. As its own thing it was just ok, not bad, not amazing.

I was really hoping for a fishy pork tsukemen (tonkatsu gyokai?) and what I got wasn't that. I wouldn't order it again and its unfortunate that this location doesn't do their normal menu because I would be back at this convenient location so often for their normal tsukemen. (Or gyokai, but I can dream)

Hopefully they'll move this menu to one of their northern locations where there are more nearby options!“

“The food is fresh. You can taste that they make their own salsa, for example. The veggies on my salad were bright and crisp. In comparison to other places, you can tell you are eating fresh food. The coffee is good. They have lots of seating. Service is friendly, helpful and efficient. Good prices. Local. Easy parking. What more can you ask for? “The steamed BBQ pork buns are a must! Beyond delicious. I also am a huge fan of the gluten-free thin rice noddles that I substitute in my main dish typically! The spicy ramen broth is delicious (my husbands go-to). If you are in a rush, this might not be the place for you. A true mom and pap shop, perfecting every dish before serving. For my husband and I, it’s well worth the wait for the authentic divine flavors. Great portion sizes as well!“

I was shown how to properly cut the cake and had help bringing the cake to my car - something most bakeries don’t do anymore! We will definitely order more cakes/desserts in the future!“
