If you don't like your food too spicy, they will also adjust it to your liking. Very cute spot. Wonderful for date night.“

The hostess turned it down a tiny bit when we asked, but said that corporate requires them to have it at that level. It is ridiculous, because people get together for good food and conversation. “All I know is that the food is so good that I have been here 3 times since it opened (Which has been less then 6 months). I know I should branch out and try the other offerings but I just really love the Tori Paitan and will be back more when the cooler weather is fully settled in.
I also sincerely appreciate that there are good non-alcoholic mixed drinks, because sometimes someone just wants a fun mixed drink but none of the alcohol and there's quite a few options here- expanded even from the menu pictured on Google. There's a really good Yuzu based drink that I also keep getting that is my favorite.
The atmosphere is higher end but not pretentious, and cozy while still being open.

I look forward to bringing more of my friends here.

Parking: Fair amount of parking but it's in a strip mall with other restaurants so you're not always able to find a spot immediately. There's usually more parking in the back“

“We went in on a whim. My kids really wanted to have ice cream at Dairy Queen next door for lunch, lol, but we decided they should actually eat some food. We had never been there, but will definitely be back! It was So good! We had Teriyaki chicken, chicken chow mein, or maybe they were lo mein noodles, and 2 kinds of egg rolls. It was all not only delicious, but different than anywhere else. Those egg rolls were maybe the best we’ve ever had. Even my picky eater kids liked it all! Plus, the staff were extremely nice and genuinely glad that we stopped in. A must try for sure.“

It helps that the restaurant is staffed by the nicest people in the world. When I call for pickup they know my order (lad nar with chicken and Japanese gyoza) and they have it ready in ten minutes. “The chicken is so good! There is seating, but when we were there, it was crowded and noisy with kids running around. The chairs aren't comfortable either. But the chicken! It was very flavorful and excellent. Kind of elevated fast food. We'll go back for the chicken legs and try new dishes but will probably do carry out instead of eating in.“

The staff (diverse staff) and manager (who looked Korean to me which is nice to keep authenticity) are always cleaning...authentic to the Korean way of non stop standards of cleanliness. The bathroom is immaculate and non odorous. I got a glass noodle (which is made of sweet potato) base bowl with tofu (cooked perfectly with just right saltiness, broccoli, beans, steamed and fried potatoes, red cabbage, corn, kale, and KIMCHI of course! What Korean dish comes without kimchi and it's perfect inside bc I grew up adding kimchi to everything like ramen or pizza or soup. Also FREE miso soup w tofu and scallion. You can serve it yourself anytime. Drinks are creative and yummy. Thank you Mr Shin (owner of this chain) for creating such a great deal with yummy Korean foods that help me eat for balance and wellness. Thank you to the manager of this Des Plains location for doing an excellent job! If I could, I would eat here everyday. You won't be disappointed.
