About Harold's Shrimp and Chicken

Harold's Shrimp and Chicken offers a variety of fried food, with customers praising the taste of their chicken and catfish. The batter on the catfish is particularly noted for being thin and melting in one's mouth. The wings are also praised for being tasty and falling off the bone. However, some customers have found the fries to be undercooked and the restaurant to be slightly unclean. Parking can be limited, so it is recommended to take the first spot found. The service is described as good, but customers should not expect a fancy dining experience. Overall, it is a suitable place for those craving great fried chicken or shrimp.

The food is always hot and delicious. However, the wait time is unacceptable. I called my order in yesterday at 535pm. The lady who took my order said it would be ready in 15 min. When I arrived to pick it up, my food was not ready. In fact, I did not receive my food until almost 620pm. I understand that Friday evenings are busy days for the restaurant, but if an order is called in ahead, it should be ready when I arrive. I spoke to someone in the restaurant about this yesterday...read full review

I ordered 2 half chicken dinners, and had to wait. It was worth it! The chicken was hot and juicy, made fresh. Was so good, and the portions were huge! Excellent flavor!

The majority of food is fried. The chicken was good but my fries were very undercooked. The spicy sauce was very good. The staff weren’t that friendly or at least don’t seem to care to be there. The place could definitely be a cleaner. The floor and tables were greasy but you may expect that when they are frying food all day.

Parking: Parking is limited in downtown Oak Park. Definitely take the first spot you find even if it’s a block away.
