What an experience! Sam is this older Italian gentleman who is a legend in this town. He is a one man show. Just back behind the counter creating these delicious pizzas! The Pizza really was phenomenal. He doesn’t charge enough so we left a nice tip. Our pizza was $1300.00 per Sam AKA $13.00. Travelling through from out of town, not many places open on a Sunday night.I was about to divorce my grumpy angry husband who is on this trip with me, but then he went to Sam's Pizza and came back with a huge smile on his face, chuckling, because he loved his conversation with Sam. Best homemade pizza. We stopped by after hiking at Starved rock state park and reading all the positive reviews we decided to try this place. The joint takes you back to time, Sam is an amazing person to interact with and funny. He is really hardworking and super fast as well, we got our pizza within 20 mins.
