We go often for breakfast here at Big Apple in Plainfield. Food is always good. The biggest problem is the waitress staff yelling at each other. There was almost a fist fight between two of them on our last visit. Very unprofessional. You know that saying: I went for breakfast and a fist fight broke out, it applies here. I recently placed a large catering order with the Plainfield location for a wedding shower brunch, and couldn’t be more pleased with our experience!! Placing the order was easy, they were friendly and extremely accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious! Big Apple Cafe offers good food, although nothing exceptional. The restaurant has plenty of seating and is clean. Service is a mixed bag, with some waitresses being attentive but others seeming in a hurry. The hashbrowns may be undercooked, but the omelet, such as the mushroom and Swiss cheese option, is a highlight. The coffee is also a plus. The menu features a variety of options, and the quality and selection are exceptional. Soups are very good, and the restaurant is well-organized with a large parking lot close to the building, making it convenient and kid-friendly with a kids menu. The spacious layout easily accommodates groups, and service from the staff is friendly and efficient. The restaurant feels like a well-oiled machine, and every visit is enjoyable. The chef or cooks in the kitchen deserve praise for the quality of the food. Overall, it’s a decent eatery with potential for improvement and a strong reputation among locals.
