“Posted on Chicago Area microbreweries - Facebook page: Not quite Chicago area, but Princeton, Illinois . . . I was pleased to find Coal Creek Brewery had opened in the "2nd downtown" since I was last here. Located in a narrow, but long space - like a shotgun house - it was a nicely laid out place to have a beer. With 12 beers on tap, this small brewing operation had a varied selection of beers instead of 6 out of 12 being only IPAs! I tried the Kolsch and Milk stout because [instead of] . . . my usual preference of having a flight when checking out a new brewery . . . I spoke with the bartender/part owner and learned they learned their craft working in Florida before returning to her . . . husband's hometown. Coal Creek has only been open for two years now, but it is well worth a stop. Check it out.“
