Sweet Basil Cafe Of Riverwoods

This place is incredible! The menu is huge, there's something for everyone. The pirtions are even Bigger than the menu!!! I always come for brunch and end up having so much i take it home for dinner. Breakfasts are amazing here! I recommend the scramblers and omelets!!!! Oh, and definitely get the pancakes on the side! Fill the whole plate and thick, it's crazy! I love Sweet Basil!

We had breakfast at Sweet Basil for the first time this morning. Bright welcoming decor, extensive menu, outstanding service. I had the pancake combo. My poached eggs were prepared perfectly, served nice and hot, pancakes fluffy with heated syrup and two slabs of ham off the bone. My husband was very pleased with his ham and eggs especially because the hash browns were prepared just as he requested, which has rarely happened elsewhere. My husband and I stopped for lunch but ended up having a late breakfast. The menu was expansive and had some great options. It's typical of a cafe plus some things a little harder to find such as a Horseshoe sandwich and Avocado toast. I opted for the eggs Benedict with American fries and my husband had scrambled eggs, hash browns bacon and toast. His came out hot and as ordered (eggs dry and bacon crisp).
